It would be interesting to see if there is a difference in the pings and the version they have us download.

I have an Android phone. My Uber app version is the same as NITWITone

 

I don't believe there is a way for them to give different people different versions of the app, because it's done through the app store, not through Uber. So different kinds of phones could have different versions, but otherwise it's just people who didn't happen to update yet.

Now, how the app behaves -- THAT is totally under Uber's control and varies from person to person. A good example is the A/B Testing of the "feature" of not showing you whether a ride is UberX or UberPOOL. So if some people are seeing one thing and some are seeing another, in general, that's Uber playing with you. But it's the same version of the app normally.

Mine is same as urs, but my friend has different (i think looks better) who has same Iphone. Tried to download it after still same

 

 

 

I've met several Uber drivers (while getting a rides not in the DMV, typically when traveling for work) who don't know how to update and or/are scared too. Something tells me they may be part of the issue when we have glitches. As they have stated whenever they complain about bugs and what not they say you Uber fixes it for them. My guess they are the reason why updates sometimes dosent work well. They also have pretty bad ratings whenever I run into those drivers.
