It is very strange. So my car is a hatchback and I have a case of water in the back. Passenger in the backseat can easily reach in the back and grab a bottle of water. But now I don't really let passenger have water due to poor experiences the first few time.

So whenever a passenger ask if I mind they grab a bottle of water. I simply said in a professional matter of fact way "I charge for water, $1.00 per bottle". It is simply a service I am providing now, for the convenience of having a ready bottle of water. And guess what, all the places such as McDonald and such charge $1.00 per bottle as well. So I treat it as a service.

Surprisingly, on two separate trips things have gone well. One pax bought two bottle for two dollars and was very appreciative of it. On another trip with two pax, they also bought two bottle as well and were also appreciative of the water.

And guess what. When they left they brought their bottle with them, even if the bottle was half-emptied (if you read my past post regarding water bottle you will understand my surprise here)

In conclusion I am happy with things now. I spent time going to the store to buy water, I provide this water as a convenience and it costs $1.00 and passengers are very appreciative of this extra service.

Free things aren't valued. So now they pay for the water it means something and they care and also take it with them. Makes perfect sense. I was actually thinking about starting a thread about charging for water as I don't know what uber's position would be. I know technically it's none if their business but you know uber.

Was also thinking about snacks but not sure if I want any foods in my car.
