I am a fairly female driver just 3 months, wanted to know if you fellow drivers have canceled a ride because when you’ve reached to pick up pax they are already puking?

Had a guy and girl lastnight on a poo 2nd pick up and when I reached at location at Richmond W and college the girl was puking on the side of the road. I wanted to cancel and leave them there, any how when they came in the car I gave them the bags I had with me and when they left there was just a small amount I saw on the seat which I cleaned myself.

Next time I would just prefer to cancel the ride and leave to avoid this situation again.

I know they cannot rate us when we cancel, but was more so concerned if it was reported to uber they would know who left them on the side of the road, is there anything that uber can do to me for refusing a ride?

After the passengers left your car, you should have just taken your smartphone out, taken a picture. Then contact Uber or Lyft about the situation, and then you would have gotten a $140 cleaning fee, billed to the Uber/Lyft account holder. Why would you want to cancel the ride? That's the best $140 you'll ever make doing ridesharing.

However, I do agree with you the odor from the Vomit may preclude from using your car for ridesharing in the future, as potential future pax might complain about the odor, and give you a low rating. ... so that may also be a compelling reason to cancel? Got to just roll the dice.

I about the cleaning fee etc. But I just wanted to know if I could have just avoided it totally without being suspended , our business is to provide a ride when they don't want to drive, however I prefer to decline when I can avoide the issue from happening , but I can always say I felt unsafe too.[/QUOTE]

Can anyone confirm if a driver cancels, can a rider still rate driver and complaint to Uber with false accusations.

If you driving at night, have your doors locked. When pax comes to your car, confirm their name before you open the doors.

If you feel some thing is wrong, don't open the doors and cancel. I would not pick up a pax who would be vomiting or drunk.

Yes that is an Automatic Cancel. Period ! Your lucky it happened early enough.

Did your first rider learn a lesson ? Well they should have.

Plus Veterans do not do Poo trips. So glad there not in my market.

I have a rule that if somebody is not able to walk straight, needs assistance, or is even LOOKING as if they're going to puke I don't even stop.

I always pull up with doors locked btw. Easier to not let them in than kick them out. And I don't argue with them. I just leave, or if I have gone so far as to let the window down to ask the name and assess the situation and decide to leave I just say, "sorry, too drunk for me." and drive off.

I never start a trip until I'm sure I want it.

If you cancel they can't rate.

Just don't waste cancels and you'll have plenty to save for these situations.

I'm at almost 4 years.

Doing another trip after requesting a cleaning fee Will preclude one from getting that cleaning fee.

I can't by tell by looking if they are going to puke. Have not attained that level. :)

This means, If driver cancels, pax can rate. Do you wait for pax to cancel then?

If it is very busy, waiting for pax to cancel would waste time.

Easy cancel. No charge to the rider
On a side note... Why are you doing pool rides late at night? You need to hit that "No Thanks" button a little more often.
I am new and learning quickly from you veterans , lesson learnt and I did decline all after this one and went straight home,

On a side note I rarely cancel rides so if I kept it for these ones I am sure I would be ok

yeah me too I save my cancels for situation like this but just know your cancelation rate and acceptance rate resets after 7 days so don't be so scared to cancel. Yesterday I had a 17% cancelation rate. Today I'm a squeaky clean 0% .
