I don't normally drive in Baltimore,i'm from VA and don't know much about MD. But sometimes I end up in Gaithersburg very late night, BWI early am, and am tempted by 3x surge pings in Baltimore. But I KNOW NOTHING about Baltimore and which areas are OK for a female driver late night, very early am.

Any suggestions? I don't know neighborhoods at all so tell me which parts to avoid with parts of city, like SE, NE, etc.

I DO CARRY PROTECTION..But rather NOT USE IT!

I drove quite a few times in downtown Baltimore which I have no problem, Fells Point area which is a nice bar district. West of Baltimore is I think you must avoid. The best resource is to figure out your passenger and tell them that you're not from the area, that you just did a drop off, and ask them which areas to avoid. Most of the time, they will tell and direct you, and that' is the best info you could get. Part of York road North going towards Towson, close to Loyola college in cold spring lane is one area I got scared after I did the drop off.

I'm a female driver in Baltimore. I primarily drive late nights in the city.
You will be ok around/in:
Horseshoe Casino/Greyhound Bus Station
Federal Hill
Fells Point
Canton
Inner Harbor
Mt. Vernon

Don't go west of the casino/stadiums
Don't go north or east of Mt. Vernon

There is a train station (Penn Station) just north of Mt. Vernon. It can get a little sketchy around that area. I won't go there after 9/10 pm.

You can tell the areas that aren't safe. They have a bad vibe (and lots of boarded up houses).

Good luck!
