Adding stop scams

Some riders are adding stops right when you arrive or when you are on the way. Some will say... "I could not add the stop in the original request... I had to do it after. I ordered it.

What I am seeing is that Uber may tack on a charge but if they do, less than half of that charge goes to us. I have seen someone get charged over $10 more and yet I only received # $2.

My response is, I am late for an appointment and now I am going to miss it if I complete this job. Cancel it. or I may cancel and select rider behavior. Or I may tell them that if they do not cancel, I will have to drive to them and then cancel....

Do they really save any money?

What really pisses me off is if I am in destination mode or area preference and they add a stop... as far as 20 frigging miles outside the zone.

That is not the contract I entered into. Piss off.

What exactly do they save if they add the stop later? I have never ordered an uber... so why can't they add the stop when they order it?

Since their inception Lyft and Uber have known that drivers hate stops and they have done literally NOTHING to compensate us fairly for them. When you consider how many trips with stops get cancelled or how many passengers get attitude from the drivers, you'd think they would want to improve the situation but no, they would rather fill their pockets with loot running a garbage shit service.

Stops are part of the business, you just have to accept them.

But what you don't have to accept is how little your being compensated for them.

So if you have a unexpected stop just charge the customer and extra $1 per minute upfront in cash or you end the trip at the stop and move on.

Your entirely in your rights as an independent contractor. Just explain time is money and your only being paid when the wheels are moving.

They either understand or they can JUST GET THE FECK OUT!

Actually in the taxi business pax would add stops all the time.

Really drove the dispatcher nuts. Us drivers didn't care because we charged $1 per minute, so it was like getting a free pizza, soda, coffee or pee break.

Agustis Bush of Bush Beer, actually paid me $300 to sit in the parking lot and take anyone coming out home as he got the whole bar drunk. He would give me $50 for the fare and I said "Sir the fare is only $5" and he said "No it's fifty" and I said "Yes sir!" 😆

Pissed off the dispatcher but I told him to call the boss, I was making more money sitting in the parking lot than driving and the boss agreed. 😆

My first Friday night as a cab driver and I bank over $600 off this guy. 😊

A lot of drivers won't accept pings with stops so they add them after you accept our after you pick up thinking you are trapped. I don't do stops so I simply cancel or wait out the time while hiding around the corner.

I'm to the point where I back button to the pickup and drop off screen. If that changes I cancel.

I literally drove up heard the ping saw the change canceled and drove off.

From 2:30 to 4:30 I enlarged the screen where the drop off is if it's a school. Cancel

On shared rides I put stop new requests after I pick up the first one.

Never accept trip longer than 2 miles away.
