So I had a stupid long farewell today. Still on my way back honestly. On a pit stop.
5 1/2 hour 368 mile fare one way. The customer told me they tried for an hour to get a Lyft and no drivers wanted to take them. And they saw about 10 Ubers/lyfts load from the same place from people who started looking for a ride an hour after they started.
I didn't ask how much Lyft wanted but when the fare came in from dispatch, dispatch gave the customer an estimate over the phone and the customer had the money to pay up front in full.
I think they were butt hurt that such loyal Lyft customers had their fare refused for an hour, then they had to pay WAY more for a taxi to take them.
fuel costs are gonna be about $90 in a fuel effecient car. So I suspect that Lyft was paying less than a couple hundred.
they paid the estimate ip front that’s what matters.
an hour and no suckers… makes me contemplate whether or not uber and Lyft are at a tipping point.
How long until nothing is worth taking, I mean honestly.
