Drove my wife to work today as I am staying in self quarantine, and I didn't see ONE SINGLE UBER anywhere on the streets, while going along a route, and in a direction, where a 3-4 car UBER sighting at this time (the AM rush hour) would be considered normal and expected.

That's with 1.3MM population, a very large DT core (see pic) and zero people out there walking along the streets............but still lots of ants, if the rider app is to be believed, which it is not 100%.

What's your city UBER traffic like during rush hour right now ?

I commute 60 miles to work each day. Interstate traffic is 40% what it was. City traffic down at least that much. We have not been hard hit by this thing yet. It will go further down as this progresses in the area. Most businesses and all schools are closed

There is certainly a bump in traffic at rush hour, but this is a tourist town, so it's mostly a ghost town. Funny, I brought up an ant map the last two times I was in town and it is consistently showing seven ants, across both platforms. Not the normal 8 ants. Go figure. But these are not all shadow ants. There are uber cars trolling around looking for the scant few rides available now. It's strictly locals at this point. Pick ups for someone who walked to the grocery store but couldn't fathom walking back with an armful. People with broken cars that need a lift. Get it? Lift? Ha ha.

Perhaps worth noting, we have 34 cases reported so far in my county of 1/2 a million.

don't you need to be an employee to be laid off?
Yea, you say potato, I say tomato ...
what's the difference?
Semantics.

And I am a world renowned anti-semantic.

If the boss tells someone who works for him that his services are no longer needed because there isn't enough work ... I call that 'laid off'.
What do you call it?

Well shit. I may be driving full time soon. Company just had a all hands conference call announcing massive layoffs and letting go of contractors. :frown:
Uber is laying off alot of drivers in California.... during the pandemic. It will be interesting to see what happens to the rideshare industry. I would not do it full time you will be slow like everyone else. It's dead in my city too which is near Toronto

Most the drivers in Seattle are still on PUA. Seattle was the first epicenter of the virus, so we got shut down hard. We are still not fully open, and the local news is already talking about another Covid spike and store rationing again.

Anyways I popped open my app to check the airport queue. Still a few Ants out there.

Ants are out now that is for sure! Plenty of ants on Uber and Lyft sitting around without moving too! No riders!

Traffic is another thing... it is back to normal in my area :(

Back on Friday, May 15th in LA we went from the valley to Pomona on the 101/10 at 8AM and never saw traffic. We did 70MPH the whole way, even in downtown LA near the 110! I've never seen that before. Later that day in Las Vegas the strip was dead. No traffic and we saw like 6 people walking at various points. At that time all the casinos were still closed. All the lights were on. Just no people.

I'll never forget the first few weeks of lockdown. Its was so surreal to drive around and nobody out. I grew up in San Diego and have driven every inch of this city so to see some of the sites was truly amazing. It was awesome I can't lie and I knew at the time that it was something that might not ever happen again.

nd ... the result is the same.
um, no. for tone, balance and accuracy there is a huge difference. One requires you to be an employee; we are not, have not and will not be employees. So say we all (well voters in Calif). Plus, Uber has never done that, beyond a individual basis.

for TBA.
