my acceptance rate is currently below 40% as I get bombarded with uberfool. And funny thing is I get most of the fool ping from 10 -20 minutes away when I am online from my house in Somerville. So question is do I need to worry about my poor acceptance rate? I feel it's really low to even my standard.

you are in Mass they can't deactivate you for low acceptance rating. But they can log you off for a time if you say No to Pool too many times. Example; you might get an in- app alert saying that your acceptance is too low "Blah Blah Blah" and turn you off for 5 minutes or more.

Don't worry, they cannot deactivate you for being a real independent contractor and choosing which jobs you accept, however I would be careful not to cancel too many trips or get consistently low ratings because they may deactivate you for that in retaliation for the fact that they cannot deactivate you for low acceptance rates.

Thx guys!! Yes I need to work on my cancellation rate; but many times I accepts the ping accidently, and also some of the cancellation are rider no show.
That cancel rate percentage is misleading. It includes cancels you've made for no reason, cancels for no shows, and pax initiated cancels.

Somewhere around the 12+% mark you may get an automated slap on the wrist test/email about it.

When I got warned (14% cancels) I opened a support message asking for an explanation why I was warned for cancels including no shows and pax cancels. I kept responding to the canned answers until a human told me it was an automated warning, apologized because Uber is a growing company that makes mistakes, and to disregard it.

Unless you're accepting trips and cancelling them for no good reason, there's nothing to worry about there

I've seen drivers in the other cities talking about having 0% acceptance rates after refusing 50 pings in a row. From sitting in heavy surges refusing pings from far away or refusing pings outside their airport while they're in the queue

My acceptance rate went up as soon as I stopped giving rides in Somerville. If you are worried about it (and you shouldn't be) go offline when you end up in Somerville.

Today I decided to exercise my right as an independent contractor and these were my results. LOL

Acceptance was at like 90% something and cancellation at like 4%

I wonder what it will be at the end of the week... LOL

No and don't let anyone tell you or intimidate you otherwise!!! You are a contractor not an employee!
