When the realization kicks in that none gives a tomato about their little strike and nothing will result of it, except your time wasted on a ordinary Wednesday. The app will still work and there will be some drivers making some extra on the surge, that's all. I pray for you guys and feel second hand embarrassment from the thought of how the event will unfold.

Just like Taxi drivers striking to ban Uber, resistance will be futile.

And even hypothetically, the strike hurts Uber, how exactly is striking a blow to one of your only two business partner that is already hurting going to magically increase your wage? It won't, if anything it will decrease it as Uber has to show financial result. The more you strike, the harder the squeeze will be on your rate to make up for any potential damage. This idiotic action is like picking up a boulder to smash ones own right foot to relieve the itch then wonder why your crippled...

Honestly the way most Uber drivers dress, and even look, they do more harm then anything. Having a bunch of genetically deficient people with bad Kmart clothing with a loud speaker proving why they flunked their secondary school speech class does nothing for them. They would be better off hiring people to march for them.

How you get that, that pic I mean?
I took a screen shot off SherpaShare. You can likely see the same data off the Uber Rider App too. People are ignoring the stupid strike.
I treat Uber as a simple side gig, which is what it's really supposed to be.
I work full time at another job, so the income is extra spending money.
And yes I will be driving this morning after work too. Never have liked unions and I never will.

I am torn. I like that the drivers are voluntary making a statement. Ubers well aware of course. What I'd like to see drivers who have lost their contracts over false accusations to go to the media and make THAT a big controversy

I think U/L saying drivers make 20/hr average is misleading. Should be "gross before expences" and that average includes higher platforms like uber Black and XL. This causes an excess of new drivers who soon quit only to be replaced by other drivers who've been lied to.

Otherwise it's supply and demand. When U/L are paying 60 cents per mile AND there is still enough drivers to provide a 5 minute ETA to the customer, nothings going to change!

So why don't you keep your mouth shut and go out and work? You should be thanking the strikers for the windfall you are about to receive. Doesn't it just fill your heart with joy thinking about all that money. You can cherry pick all the best pax. Stop complaining. This is your big day. Now go out there and get them.

Uber is a technology company. They provide an APP. The drivers are protesting their own poor life choices and will be laughed at as the strike against accepting work for the low pay they agree to is called out for what it is.. poor life decisions.
Poor life choices are falling into lockstep with the institutionalized system. no I didn't do good in brainwashing school and I was my own person and refused to kiss ass and believe the lie. I was not a little brown noser because I am intelligent I am not a herd or pack animal. Screw fake capitalism and crony payoffs all this crap is illegal. It's all a communist b******* lie. Organized crime and globalism sucks.

just because they were not cookie cutters does not give Uber the right to royally screw them over. the United States was a rich country BEFORE you get that before a college education was required just to get a crappy middle class job. Before globalism, the United States manufactured the best products and was the richest country on the planet. Now it is a race to the bottom and nothing more than dirtbag animal-style exploitation. Monkey behavior is not civilized or educated.

if you work Uber part-time there is no possible way you would make any income do the math subtract your gas and find out you're losing money.

We don't wear sissy Madison avenue engineered clothing partially because it is gay and also it is made by slaves tied to a sewing machine. we did not get along with the genetically deficient teachers in our primary schools and their a****** attitudes and behavior towards individuals. We were individuals not groupthink heard collective sheep idiots. Uber has sucked us in and rip us off just like all the other communist crony fake capitalism companies out there.

And to all the educated people why doesn't my car fly? Supposed to about 50 years ago. Why hasn't smartphone technology improved in almost 10 years besides gimmicks? Because the educated class are idiots, and it takes 400 engineers just to make a baby step. You are a conformist sheeple you were babied through school and college and you have no deep or inquisitive or philosophical knowledge. The new generation of idiots that pay $2,000 for a tiny apartment.

They are strongarmed robbing us directly for our money. Nothing more than scum criminals with small minds and no creativity. That's where they steal each other's ideas all the time. no creativity and your b******* institutionalized system of globalism and world slavery.

Who cares if you drive. The fact that I turned on my television this morning and they were talking about the Uber/Lyft strike on Fox News is progress by itself. It is a starting point. A year ago this was getting no coverage. If you feel better about yourself for driving and taking advantage of the surge, making negative comments towards strikers then all the power to you Mr. Uber Employee.

Some 3rd party app, uber only shows 8 at one time
It is SherpaShare on iOS. I decided for giggles to look at other areas of the country, to see how things were looking. A lot of Lyft/Ubers out and about.

Our local Atlanta Station (WSBTV) just did a live report from INSIDE an Uber, took only 3 minutes to summon. I watched a supposedly former driver, a woman, who had quit driving because she was assaulted by a Pax, who copped a feel. She made a demand that all riders need background checks!
Ummm.
Nope, not going to happen.

While some question if I am making a profit while driving part-time, I do indeed. I drive a fuel efficient vehicle, I have found the Jeep Renegade I use to be rather robust and I go around 6,000 miles per oil change. (Just did the first one.)

As for the strikers, well, all the best to them. Remember folks this is supposed to be a side gig and not a full time job. One you only have one source of income there will be the verities that come with the job.

There will be competition with demand. I believe sooner or later either Lyft or Uber will blink, and possibly even merge to one platform, that will be the result of the market demands from investors. That is the reason we have seen the reduction of prices paid to the drivers, they want to reduce the costs of the ridership to the riders. The riders will vote with the wallet over which one is the cheaper alternative.

Do not be surprised to see a possible merger focus on the level of ridership comfort. The vanilla rider assigned to the lower tier while the VIP (who has the fattest wallet) gets assigned to the upper crust white glove ride, i.e. former Uber Black vehicles.

If you need ride-sharing side job then you have no real primary job and no life..
I used to laugh my ass off couple of years ago every time I heard Lyft $1200 sign up bonus for 75 rides radio commercial. Always thought.. who would do this unless you're low life or total looser...

Did you mean need ride sharing as a full time job? I certainly hope so. To be a member of a ride sharing forum saying that it is stupid to do this as a side job is stupid with a capital S.
