When I go into xl
mode all the surges disappear from the screen. I know there's been problems with surge multipliers at the airport but how about here in The burbs? Uber has never sent me notification of any changes made they just seem to take effect by trial and error.

Noticed this myself last night. I could see I was allegedly in a surge, but was XL only. I turned on X...and there it was.

FOR ME! When I go XL, that surge map is accurate! When I switch back to X, that crazy mostly all over the place surge shows up. So to know what the real surge is, go XL and switch back. That’s what I did all night last night.

Surges work on XL but the locations and the surge rate don't appear to match the general base-X map. Of course, Lyft is a totally different - and screwed up - situation. The Lyft pinball game map works for XL but there are rarely actual ride requests that come from those cute colored zones.
