I was in XL only mode, and got a trip from the AP. It said Comfort, I had no idea what it was but I was in XL mode only so I took the ride.

2 big guys were headed to sandy springs, I’m thinking great, this should be about a 64.00 trip. Ended the trip and it was 34.00, man wtf?

Called Uber but basically they said I’m apart of the Comfort testing phase. It’s like this.

Base fare X .60
Base fare Comfort 1.03
Base fare XL 2.03

I actually like the idea of adding comfort but if I’m in XL only I want only XL rides. So if you’re in XL only don’t take a Comfort trip.

Now see this in my rider app. Looks, to me, like it could kill XL. Only possible positive would be if it doubles the business. Which is doubtful.

Glad I never invested in an XL vehicle.

Ugh I have a Honda pilot. Got it because I have kids and use/abuse it with Uber. I get maybe 2 xl trips a week. That's the only time I feel Uber is worth while.

Base fare X is .79c.

Rates for Comfort are .77c/mile and .15c/min. Almost X like and half of the rates for XL. I did one because it was on my destination.

Good luck with this. Really don't like seeing them cut XL rates.

Unless this's ultra successful, one thing it will do is kill any incentive for driver's to, step up, invest in seven seaters.

Absolutely. I drive a Renegade. Had one Pax confused about which Jeep it was. He canceled at the outset, demands to know why I said I was driving a Grand Cherokee. I advised I don't have a GC, never have and drove off. Got a ping 15 seconds later, same person and ignored him.Got another ping from another Pax with no concerns about the size. To what ever floats their egos I suppose.

I suspect this is to try and get xl drivers to go into accept all trips mode more often. Same with this points scheme. They want their numbers to look as good as possible before thier ipo. Plus anyone see the news that Lyft is not allowing smaller vehicles ie sub compacts on their platform any more. It said no new accounts with vehicles like Honda fit Nissan versa will be allowed to make cars more comfortable for passengers. Wonder if Uber is going to do the same thing?.
