Going for my induction next week been a cab driver 15 years need to know from you guys if you have been an uber x and then gone up the spectrum to ex or lux and taken more money in relationship to a more expensive car.Also i live round romford and brent wood areas hows the work in these areas. thanks in advance.

Hello. Minicab or black cab driver. They do no recruit drivers for exec or lux. X and XL is good money maker if you put hours in. I live near Romford too. It’s absolutely dead Monday to Thursday. Friday and sat not too bad. Best to work in city.

XL is not a money maker from my experience, the odd decent job but nowhere near regular enough to justify extra expenditure. You also have people book X but need is XL.

If you turn up and they need an xl and you are an x at least you get paid dont you?

As long as you chose the right cancellation reason as some of them u dont get paid.

Yep £1.25 vs £2.10 per mile...makes massive difference on longer trips...also not sure how that would work with insurance if you had claim and you had 5 riders instead of 4. If insurance company asked for proof you may be in trouble... But not too sure.

0.6375 Per mile extra (63p)
But lower MPG.
Prius averages 50-55MPG..
think 7 seaters do 40ish.. not sure
XL good in evenings, plus if u catch a surge XL it’s good..
but driving a galaxy/sharan all day compared to a Prius..
your taking positives in one hand and giving out in another..

My suggestion: get a XL car that is the smallest XL on the platform so u drive a small car which can do XL jobs..

My mate has a 65 plate e class does exec,
He gets £2.10 a mile but the on going servicing and fuel is high. Has to work more central and no demand outside there.

Uber X literally anywhere you’ll get a job..

I have heard of Lux drivers going to X.

Not heard pf anybody going the other way.

Especially as Lux has been closed to new drivers for a couple of years.

Good days are gone on Lux. Better rates, fewer jobs, £150/200 a day for day drivers.

You will do less work, less miles etc on Lux but make only a little more.

So Lux is only for.filling in around your proper work
