I have been driving for a couple weeks and have experienced a chunk of West End pickups (Portland) where the address in the app is .5 to 1 mile away from the customer. The rider Pin was always in sync with the incorrect app address. I drive to the address/pin. Wait 4 minutes and ping customer only to find out customer is Multiple blocks or more away.

Anyone else see this - especially in the West End?

This results in confusion and late arrivals.

Same here! What happens to me a lot is I'll get sent to the street directly behind the address. The passenger puts the pin in the back of their house which puts them closer to the street behind them. The worst example of this is the Residence Inn in Scarborough and the Holiday Inn by the Mall. Passengers will often put the pin closer to the Turnpike than the front of the building to Google Maps will route you to pick them up on the Turnpike! Yesterday I had a call to Willow Lane in Portland and stupid me didn't stop to look at where that street actually was and I blindly followed the GPS which led me to the Italian Heritage Center, right in their backyard. I was close enough to the pin that I "arrived", but to actually get to me the passenger would have had to hop over a metal fence, or I would have had to drive another 10 minutes past Westgate Shopping Center. I ended up cancelling on them to avoid a low rating.

I've learned that in order to protect your rating it's often a good idea to cancel and drive away if the passenger isn't where they put the pin, even if it's completely their mistake.

This is interesting. I'm very new and have experienced this twice so far. I suspect that it's the reason for my less-than-perfect rating. This pin placement method seems prone to location errors. The passenger probably doesn't realize how critical accurate placement of the pin is either.
