The ride is as short and driver pay out is correct. Uber overcharged the riders. If you look at some of your minimum fares you will see Uber overcharged the riders
I look at all my fares. Every. Single. One.

I know the driver was paid correctly according to the non surge rates. The riders were charged the equivalent to a surge. They knew the price before they paid. What they are doing is shady AF.

They once again found a loophole. They way I see it they are actually scamming both, drivers and riders. You can't defend one and not the other. It's shady at best possibly fraudulent. I guess eventually a court will have to decide.

Uber has more than enough data to predict surge. They are basically charging surge prices at times and not passing that surge on to drivers. Technically, yeah the driver was paid correctly. Is uber operating in good faith here? I dont think they are, do you?

Uber been scamming drivers for years and now they are doing it to the riders. Uber scam drivers by paying low rates but riders by overcharged even when it's an minimum fare. Uber used to charge $7 to the rider if you take a trip from Mandalay Bay to bellagio but now they charged riders $12 to $15 and drivers still get same minimum fare of $3.75. Nevertheless both do get scam but now more rider than driver

Yes, because they essentially are charging a surge, dynamic pricing. Only now they are keeping it instead of passing it on.

The rider knows they are paying 15, we however don't know until after the fact.

This has been happening more and more and your right if the rider is willing to pay it well.... I picked up a pax at hard rock that was going to hooters when he got in he told me Uber quote was 18.00 there was no surge he was confused couldn’t believe it so for the first time in months he switched over to Lyft and it was 10.oo.

As we were about to pull out I was telling him that seemed high and he opened the again just to see this time is told him 16.00.

I think we all know Uber has been testing this flat fee pricing and charging whatever they think a pax is willing to pay.

What’s more interesting to me is if it shows pax are willing to pay more for the same ride why not bump us back up a bit since you lowered our pay what three or four times now while you had price wars with the competition?

Exactly what I was talking about. This Uber crap 180 days of change is to scam the riders. Uber lost 3.8 billions and now they are making up for it by overcharging the riders while drivers still get minimum fares.

I tell every rider about this and ask them to complain to Uber

Last year in Vegas during Labor Day weekend starting Friday until Monday morning the strip was surging at least 2.ox most of the time. This year Labor Day weekend I only saw about 2 surges that hit 1.5x for about a few minutes, and that was it.

Uber is charging riders/pax surge prices this Labor Day wekend in Vegas, but won't be passing surge prices to their drivers, and they (Uber) are calling it "upfront pricing". It's a strategy/scam that Uber/Lyft are now implementing to get more revenue, but it takes money from driver's pockets.

A business looking to make the most money doesn't sell their product based on what it cost them to produce the product. They sell the product at a price that maximizes their profit.

A business looking to make the most money doesn't pay its workforce a percentage of the price of its product. They pay the lowest wage possible and still fill the positions with qualified individuals.

A worker looking to make the most money doesn't take the first job found. They hold out until they get a salary/wage/contract that they feel they are worth.

I stopped driving when the rate was over $1/mile. I didn't feel that contract was sufficient but apparently, many thousands do at an even lower rate. Driving 100 miles a day, alone, is not unusual for me. I wish I could find a worthwhile gig that would pay for my travels around town. I thought rideshare fit the bill, and it still might, peanuts are better than nothing. I want cashews, I guess.
