This has nothing to do with the stimulus package, I’m just having a discussion. As an Uber driver how much money would it take for you to get for free to agree to not drive Uber anymore? If you got 1,600 a month for not doing anything would you take that instead of driving even if there was no virus?

I think I would. Every dollar you make that is passive is much more valuable because time is money too. You might have to find something else to get some extra money but it would be a start. Maybe I would be happy with getting 1,600 a month and I would do postmates on the side.

I think the question in the long run is unsustainable. If it was once a month $1600 instead of driving I’d take it but then who’s working and where’s that money coming from? If it’s just takes a couple months off and here’s $1600 stay don’t drive for 3 months, we’ll then I’d rather drive.

Heck, I'm getting zero free money right now, and I've stopped driving. So I guess with CV out there, the answer is $0 for me.

This CV is the push that I needed to get away from Uber for good, I think. It will be hard for a while, but I think I will be okay ... working somewhere else, for the same or better pay, without unnecessarily risking my life twice (health + auto accidents)

"Would you rather have a check or do Uber?"

The top executives I've seen at Uber are all male, so I'll take the check.

AND those who do RS just for the time/schedule/get out of house? I make more money sitting on the couch; Uber is peanuts; but the time is priceless. Once the 'shelter in place' order is toast I"m back online.

Give me a $4000 check each month and I will not drive for Uber. I may settle for less but would need some convincing.
I'd go with 4000 too.
Maybe I would be happy with getting 1,600 a month and I would do postmates on the side
So if I could double book I would settle for less.
1600, and still do other apps

Both....

You crazy. Netting $4k a month driving Uber is not likely and if you can pull it off it's a ton of work.
So 65-70k a year? :roflmao:

Which uber driver makes this that doesnt involve working 60 hour work weeks?
All market specific. Making $1k a week doing 40-50 hrs isn't that difficult. If you are full time, and drive right times and right places. I'm part time and if I want to put in 40 hours doing ride share I can typically make $1k. Sometimes might take 50 hours, sometimes will take less than 40, depends no how the dice fall week to week. But it is doable.

No PTO, sick time, etc, that is an issue.......
