I have picked a few 5-star pax who turned out to be 1-star [email protected]&$ and a number of 3-star raters who were 5-star pax. But a 1-star pax? I was tempted to accept out of curiosity but I did not summon enough courage to hit the accept button so I let it pass. To start with, a new rider gets an automatic 5-star rating and the rating goes down (or stays) as time goes by. But to go down to 1-star? Something must be terribly wrong!

I've seen this more than once. A driver on another group posted a 2.9 Uber rider.

I also would not touch this pax. I have noticed Lyft pax ratings are sliding down again after some climbing thanks to automatic 5 star.

Are drivers becoming more serious on rating pax now? I do rate pax more often than before.

On the other hand, LYFT drivers are all climbing up to 5* due to the new ratings policy: Drop the lowest rating, and all non-rating Pax default now to rating their driver 5*.

Somehow my weekly rating summaries have more rating than the number of ride I gave.

On Lyft I don't think the rider starts with any rating, unlike uber. unrated rider shows as NEW. Perhaps this person has taken only one Lyft ride and got a single 1 star rating, and that's all it took to get 1.0. The only other way I can think of to get 1.0 is to get 100x 1 star ratings. Otherwise it would be a little higher at least like 1.8.

Here's the deal with lyft. Last week got a 1.0 rider ping. I accepted and off I went. Picked up some foreigner from a hotel he was going a couple Km down the road to another hotel. I asked him how many times he used lyft, he said its his second time. I asked him how was his first driver, he said he was good.

So the first driver 1 starred a new rider and then the rider has a 1.0 rating. I concluded that yes, riders do start with a 5 star, but that 5 star doesn't count for other trips moving forward, so if u 1 star a brand new rider, their rating will be 1 star.
