I feel like the long period of ensuing slowness due to lack of places open is going to destroy/bankrupt a lot of full timers. If it takes 2 months for things to get back to normal you will hear (and already hear) about how it’s not sustainable doing this full time especially during a crisis like this.

I feel like Uber/Lyft will lose lots of drivers during this time and most will be the full timers. Only the part timers will stick around but they will lose some of them too with it being so slow for so long.

Also most will remember that they cannot offer us anything during a time like this because we aren’t employees, we are independent contractors (even though they treat us like employees)

How much interest are you charging?
I signed about 10 of em the last few days but Im holding off now to see whats going on and get definite feel of whats going before I lose my own bankroll.

Just imagine the Lyft Express Drive rental drivers
Actually your completely wrong with that.I was at avis on Decatur and sahara. My buddy Rob owns the place. He had more people there when they opened at 8am then hes ever had.People are desperate and begging just to try to lease in hopes they make something.I couldnt believe watching these people begging for a lease. Its pretty sad.

No I meant they will be struggling. They have to make about $300 in income from Lyft just to break even counting gas which is paid for out of pocket. They should not be driving those cars. Not enough demand out there. It’s worse than taking out a payday loan right now

I personally feel that both Uber and LYFT are done for, walking dead. If they survive through at all. With the lack of any kind of support or any kind of statements or anything from either of the two companies left a very bad taste in my mouth. I think it shows just how vile both Uber and LYFT are. I've started sending emails to my state senators. hopefully once all this other virus crap blows over to really start looking into the labor practices both companies and their policies. I'll continue to do so.

Who knows how long the stuffs gonna last. Right now we're on a 30 day lock down. My primary job in the service was nuclear, chemical and biological warfare. I understand The modeling concepts the CDC and the government and the various agencies are putting forth. it extends any farther than that it's going to be pretty much a moot point from there on as far as Uber and Lyft are concerned.

I just don't see the economy here in Vegas (or anywhere) recovering as fast as they think it might. I see a lot of small managed properties, apartments and various rentals with a huge increase in evictions once the band on foreclosures and evection's are lifted. Because a lot of these owners are just plain scum bags and are just interested in money and nothing else.

Unfortunately, these corporations are going to take advantage so when they open, more than likely, they're not going to recall as many workers as the furloughed to recover costs. It's not personal it's just business. Looks like the Cabbies got the last laugh, At least They can get unemployment!

Is he being honest with them and telling them there are no rides out there?

A month or so ago there was a troll on here baiting you guys asking if he should leave his modestly paying job(41k per yr) with benefits to do rideshare fulltime.

I played along and told him he was out of his mind cause if drivers were living hand to mouth in a great economy what did he think it was going to be like when the economy tanked and he was competing with unemployed waitresses, bartenders, and construction workers for the same fare? Little did I imagine that scenario would play out just weeks later.

Hmmm. If there is a turnaround, some activity on the strip, maybe lots of cabbies will just stay out, still collect unemployment, could be opportunities for rideshare. But, the Strip sucks. I hate the Strip. So, no good fortune.

Ya that will be true.It will open up rides for rideshare drivers. But do you really want to drive sick people for the next 6months or so and open yourself up to being ill.I guess thats the big question.Risk versus reward. How much you can afford to not make money and so on.I hope this shit hurrys up its only been a few days.I have a few bucks to stay at home but getting bored as hell lol
