I am a long time Uber Eats driver and also deliver on other apps. I do not do pax because I have always driven an older car that never meets the requirements.

Since I drive a lot and own multiple cars, I rarely use Uber to get picked up and taken somewhere. However, there are times I need Uber, such as if i drop my car off for service.

Since I am part of the industry and also a veteran on this forum, I know how pax can be. They will downrate you for the fun of it sometimes. They do not care if you lose your job. It is sad.

So for me, when I use Uber, if the driver wants to talk, I always tell them about how I do Eats and how I feel it is terrible how a lot of pax treat them and rate them unfairly. I tell them I always give my drivers 5 Stars regardless to offset the pax that rate against them.

SO HERE IS THE THING. At the end of every ride, when I do use Uber, I show the driver my side of the app, after the end it and show them I am giving them 5 stars and the tip. I usually tip well too. I show them that and also show them I finalize it so I am not changing it. So........ WHY AM I NOT BEING RATED? The driver always says yes yes yes I will give you good rate too. Then, my rating never changes. Why? It is that difficult after rating you 5 stars and a $10+ tip for you to rate me back? What is the issue? Every single driver has done this. It annoys me.

I switched to delivery a couple years ago but when I drove pax you had to rate them to end the trip. The default was five stars and you just had to tap the screen. I don’t know if that has changed. In over 1000 trips I only down rated one pax. It wasn’t worth the extra effort to downrate over a minor annoyance. I only drove during the daytime so most people were nice.

Then, my rating never changes. Why?

The driver has to rate you. He cannot do another trip until he does. Even if he has another ride accepted before he completes yours, the app won't let him move on to the pick up until he rates you. Every rider is rated every trip.

You should be able to see the break down of your star count in the pax app.

Most people that are making money dont care about their ratings and have to rate the paxes before the can move on to the next ride...

I just tap the screen to get out of the ride, don't care what I tap unless I'm in the bad part of town, then I wait until I'm out of gun range.

As Mcwharthog and Boca Ratman stated, drivers have to rate the pax before they can move on to the next ride. It isn't optional for us. Why your rating isn't changing probably has to do with the rating score being an average of the last 500 ratings.

I have given two one stars since doing X and both deserved it and the rest five stars.

good grief man stop letting Uber’s rating system mess with your psyche. A penny found on the side of the road is more valuable than your Uber passenger rating.

I only have one one star rating, and just do not care about ratings…

I have given two one stars since doing X and both deserved it and the rest five stars.

I always hated that I had to leave a 1 before the passenger did.
Plus I had to do it asap.
