When I signed up for Uber last year, I actually went to the uber greenlight hub in DT thinking it was necessary. But several friends said they signed all through the app with no need to go in person. Is that true? If so, what are some of the reasons you would need to go to the hub? Is it mainly to resolve issues?

Don't lie, Uber does not do on the spot approval. The applicantion process starts online. The benefit of going to the office is that sometimes when people apply online it takes minimum three days for a background check by Toronto police and for your docs to be reviewed. Greenlight helps only to speed up the activation process, which is kinda seperate from the application process.

I signed up through the Uber website. No need to go in person unless there's something wrong.

Only reason you go to the green hubs is to clarify all your questions and doubts about driving for uber.
Besides signing up, you can go to get a free car mount or an uber eats bag lol

Because they are completely out of touch with the reality of being an "Uber driver" , I'm just about out so I'm gonna bash the shite outta them , matter of fact I can't even stand the name !

That's just not Uber who is out of touch with being an Uber driver. Most drivers are out of touch as well.
