First off this country cannot just stopped working across the board. Lives depend on certain jobs daily whether you think they need to stay home or not. If all the nurses were to go home and you got sick who in the hell is going to take care of you at the hospital? If your house catches fire the firemen all goes home who the hell's going to put out your house fire?

there's a lot of essential workers that need to go to work that don't have transportation. they need to get there somehow so there are few that are willing to risk their life to make sure this gets done so that this country can continue on oh, so you can have your fire fighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, people to prepare food for people that cannot prepare food, grocery store clerks so you can buy your food and go home, store stockers so they can make sure they can put food on the shelves so you can take it home, people who provide services to trucking industry to keep them on the road, people who provide needed services have to be able to go to work.

Regardless if you are a taxi ride share public transportation any of these forms of transportation are doing a civic duty that they feel must be done because other people that need to do their job to keep this economy world country you living.

so put your energy into something about *****ing about people who are doing a job that is also essential. We know the rest we know what the hell we're doing leave us alone and quit *****ing about it. Put your focus into something productive to help stop the monotony of this crap that's going on across the world. Cuz *****ing about somebody drive and ain't doing nothing but it's showing how much of an idiot you are about what really matters in life. Obviously staying at home matters to you, that's not what the people that are out driving right now list as an important thing in life.

Jesus people get off your goddamn soap box.that's the problem with the internet today too much anonymity and you can't get popped in the ****ing nose because you run your mouth

I don't know what you're talking about $2.85? My minimum fare is $5.51!and I'll take $800 a week plus all this time you guys want to stay at home and *****ing about what other people are doing like always.

Screw my "civic duty".

The state isn't paying me, and I didn't swear a blood oath to Dara at a midnight torch ceremony either.

Get on the bus, Gus. Those drivers are overpaid by the city on a per hour basis, they get handed gold plated pensions, they get amazing insurance and health plans for free. They fit your definition as they are civic employees, and they will get you where you need to go. Not me.

You're only making money because everyone else has the sense to protect themselves and their loved ones.

If you're young, live alone, it might be an acceptable risk.

Furthermore, there are UE benefits coming for many people (or that's what they say) so the incentive to drive is not there.

The decision is different for everyone.

Its hilarious to see healthy people listening to the news as they hide in their home, cowering in fear. Did you do this during flu season?

CV-19 is going to kill a lot of old a sick people. Yes.
CV-19 is going to overrun the healthcare system... because no country is EVER ready for .05% of the population to need ICU care. EVER.

Politicians are giving money away to ensure their REELECTION, not your health.

Millions already have immunity and the models are HORRIFICALLY WRONG because they don't take this into account.

And remember kiddies... after the 2-3 week isolation, THERE STILL IS NO CURE.

So then what??? We destroyed 30-40% of our economy for some old and sick people who would most likely die from the flu or some other condition because they were 75 years old.

Some quick math. Wuhan has 11MM people. 65,000 died. That 65000/11000000 .005% mortality rate.

Manhattan, NYC has a population of 1.6MM and the ENTIRE BOROUGH only has 14,800 hospital beds OF ALL KINDS. THE IS NO WAY TO SCALE FROM 15,000 to 60,000 IN A FEW WEEKS. You don't have the doctors, the nurses, or the facilities. Throwing people into hotels is storage, not care.

Get to work.

Your under the assumption most people care about money and others more than themselves. I could be driving however I am more afraid to bring the virus home to my older mother. I could not forgive myself if I brought the 'rona home and caused her death. Also, I make money in other ways. Rideshare, being a private company, imo is not essential because there are other means of transportation,

You do realize it's not just you at risk right? you're putting those who live with you and other passengers at risk. So there's that....-o:
