About 1 in 10 actually look for your license plate number. The rest just stand there with a confused look on their face. Why is this? I’ve even had times when I am parked right in front of them and they just frikken stand there. My license plate number, my car make, the color of the car, the pin on their app, it’s all there. Yep they just stand there like a deer in headlights. Everybody can’t be that stupid.

Maybe it's because their brilliant app sometimes tells them you're still six minutes away.

This is the number one comment I get from the 'deer in head lights' rider, yup. Oh, it says you're still 2/4/6 minutes away. Wasn't even looking for you, yet...

Besides the lag, well...many of them are really idiots. Morons asking me what their name is to confirm, or dumber ones that approach the window and ask "Are you my Uber?"

The best ones are the idiots who frequently forget the fake name they have on their profile.

"You here for Rick?"
"No, man. Someone else."
"The app says you're my ride. Who are you here for?"
"Richard."
"Rick, Richard it's the same. Let's go."

Couple things here. 1. Many times the app has not told them you have a arrived yet (data lag). 2. Many of them think we have their photo and know what they look like, assuming we will find them that way and let them know it's us.
To this I'll add the ones that do that aren't regular Uber users.
Eventually they get to the point where they don't even look at what kind of car is coming and they just hop in any car with trade dress.

Do you have Lyft and uber logos anywhere? I found that confuses people more as it seems the natural reaction is to look at the one they didn't order lol.

I would often hear them talking "but I don't have or order lyft/uber(the other company they didn't order)

I drive with nothing and people seem to find me easier lol

It's better than having them confused during the trip.

Picked up this young dude from WeHo at 9PM on DF, I am pretty sure he was sober atm, His destination was 3 miles down Wilshire with a single turn, Couldn't be an easier trip. About half way he was looking at his phone and cried out "Where are you taking me" as if he is some kinda teenage girl in a pervert's van. I was like "eh I am taking you to the destination you entered down the street". Then he apologized and mumbled something I couldn't quite hear.

This dude was at least 6' tall with an athletic build, To this day I still don't know why he freaked out during the trip. I don't look intimidating at all and I was driving straight to his destination.

Eventually they just hop in any 4 door car.
I go incognito stealth when Ubering. I can't tell you the nember of times I have random people just open the back door and get in, occasionally when not even Ubering.

This week I was parked waiting for the GF. Back door opens and chick, on her phone, gets in. I'm like 'who the fornicate are you?' She said "you're not my Uber?" I said "No I'm waiting for my GF" She had attitude even though it's her fault she got in the wrong car.

Not victim blaming but there have been a few news stories about women getting into what they thought was their Uber and the d-bag sexually assaulted her. If they'd confirmed that the car was the right one...

Some gay guys have this thing about going out of their way to emulate a girl's speech & demeanor. It's repulsive, frankly.
