To punish himself further the driver paid the student £1300 for his own stupidity, and offered him free rides around Newcastle for life.

To be fair, I've had some long old journeys, Orpington to Southampton, Bromley to Coventry - but every time the passenger has been conscious and I've checked they're going to the right place before setting off...

So your given a postcode originally whilst probably driving, during a conversation you realise they have given you the wrong post code whilst driving, so then you look up the new post code whilst driving, and safely get them to their destination whislt obviously driving. You know we're I'm going with this don't you.
