Yep.... This week has been shocking for me. I normally do 'mornings' and its been slow and crappy, haven't had a decent morning that was really worth going out for. What a joke!
Heaps of short station jobs and hardly any long surges. I said to a pax last night the city looks dead today ... She agreed no one was out and about. I guess things can't be flat out all the time.at least it's not just me lol

Same, no major surges and no big jobs. Just little chicken scratching jobs and taking rich kids to school. All short runs and nothing big to write home about. Normally I take the good with the bad, but there hasn't been a lot of good this week. Its always nice to get a few bigger jobs to fluff the numbers up. Without them, its a long hard slog to make anything.

Looks like I'll be driving fri/sat nights at this rate. Normally its pretty easy to hit $35/hr on these nights though, so Uber hasn't got a lot to worry about.

Its funny, as this will bring the drivers out, so less to no surge. Which means Uber makes LESS money on commissions etc, but will be paying out more if the drivers don't earn $35/hr gross. I'm sure there will be lots of ants out and about.

Yeah areas I work normally and you always get a few kids in the morning heading to school/uni or tafe. Today I got suck down south of brighton doing rich kid and station drops off. yay to me.

Then the work fell of a cliff and I dead headed it all the way home to Ringwood without a fare. Well I did get one ping halfway home, but it was 12 mins behind me and let it go. Didn't even have the filter set or anything.

Looking at the pax app, there had been a lot of ants around. So must be the fruits of Ubers $400-600 referral bonus starting to show. Lots of ants = less jobs for each driver now.

Drivers like me will then question if its worth going out any more in the mornings now.

I did a station job yesterday I was 5min away so all good and the pax told me drivers 18 min away where exepting the job.. She said she kept canceling because she did not want the driver to come so far for a small fair.
So looks like some drivers out there are desperate for a job lol

WOW she is straight away 5* pax for trying to care about drivers..... I really hate paxs that do the opposite of what she does. Make you drive 10+ mins and only going a short distance!

Had a few of them this week, one the other day, drove 12 mins (took it as it was a little surge), but only went 3.5 mins in the car! Being a tiny surge, it wasn't even worth it for me. They said they normally walk, but today it was raining, so got an uber. Thats how short it was and how cheap uber has become.

Also first up in the morning I'm open to a long ping request as it allows the car to warm up before paxs jump in. I rolled the dice the other morning and accepted a 15 min ping first up, ended up it was a bad move. That eta time included a bit of freeway driving, in my half blinky eyed state I didn't twig when accepting it till I had been on the road moving. FML, but thought well halfway there, might as well keep going. Could be a good job.

It wasn't, the lovely lady was going to work at a cafe, about 5 mins away, so after I drove 15-16 mins to them, it was all over in a flash. Some you win, most you lose at the moment and this is Ubers problem. Too many short trips means its not profitable for drivers, so they won't work. Then what happens to Ubers business model?

Come on Uber, you need to start addressing this, how about increasing the min fare amount to $8 like Sydney is to start with.

I had a 15min ping today for a 4.2 pax lol no chance I was going to do that I'm sure there 4.2 for a reason. The ping went off twice so clearly no one wanted to pick them up lol

yeah 8-10 mins is my normal limit in the suburbs.... 4.2 pax are a bit of a worry. I've rolled the dice on few normally when its surging, some are great, some are not so great. Its a mixed bag really just like 5* paxs. Who are either great or brand new.

Recetly I've wound that down my eta ping to 6-8 mins, as I'm getting crappy short jobs. Wasting too much time/money in dead kms for short jobs.

Come on Uber, ramp up the min fare!

They dont need to increase Min fare Just Base rate
Up to $4.2 this will make huge increase in your earnings
Flag fall is there to cover cost of your dead km between jobs
In moment any ping more than 4km you investing your petrol and car depreciation before u know your return on investment better put u dollar in pokie machine same ods
Also much better ACRO rates for Uber better pax service ping like 10 to 15 min will become attractive to drivers
