Can't wait for that day to come.

These people just cannot drive properly. They do the most outrageous things like swerving into your lane, cutting you off, or travelling on the white line to take up both lanes.

It seemed like every bad drivers of all kinds have congregated up, then went to work for this industry.. lol

Are you talking about taxi drivers or Uber drivers lol. I have way more issues with Uber drivers than taxi drivers.

I was viciously flashed at at 4 am today by a cabbie while Ubering into Logan. I was chatting with my pax, thus not regularly checking my mirrors so didn't realize I was driving too slowly.

He went to the taxi pool, I think, not even driving with any pax to the terminals.

Hmmm...yes, I do seem to drive slowly or aimlessly at times, and it seems to get cab drivers to flash the highbeams at me, likely more than regular motorists. But I had no rear Uber decal, so it's possible he wasn't even taking it out on the Uber competition.

Some folks still take cabs.

Saw yuppies being dropped with luggage at 2 am in a taxi in the South End today. Sometimes, my Uber pax still say they'll take a cab from Logan back to downtown instead of Uber, as it's more convenient at times to stroll up to a line of waiting cabs, (though, yes, sometimes a large line forms waiting on cabs.) Plus, the price savings if not going farther than Back Bay isn't big enough for some pax to bother with Uber, especially if a Logan surge.

My Kenmore Square Uber pax today, a young lady, had checked some app for taxi prices and was quoted $50 or so to the airport. Huh? Not sure what she checked but any licensed Boston cab from 61 Brookline Avenue to Logan at 4 a.m. is less than $25 before tip.

So, some pax, even young, will still consider cabs...thus, don't press too much for higher Uber rates, because cabs don't surge, they're sometimes quicker to access if in town, and much cheaper if Uber is in high surge and the trip is a mile or less. Plus, the cabbie should know more if in town or nearby, not having trouble finding TD Garden, as a recent pax complained! My app to the Garden was off and would've confused me the other day if I were new.

Some Uber drivers are too smug, thinking pax will always opt out of a cab even if cheaper than Uber in certain situations.

And I noticed lots of, in my opinion, sloppy Uber dressers in the Uber Logan queue the other night whereas the cabbie I saw today (actually unloading luggage) for those yuppies had presentable dress slacks -- and a belt!

To think that someone a few years ago would pay half a million dollars for a medallion to operate a Taxi in Boston then a year later have a service like Uber charge into the market, disrupt everything and doesn't allow for tipping.

Thanks TK for the jerb!

For the most part I have to say the taxis don't bother me it's usually the other rideshare drivers I have a problem with. But when Logan is busy like it was Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and the Taxi pool is empty thats when the taxi drivers flip a switch and turn into the biggest assholes on the road. The highbeams, the racing though massport property, and cutting us and each other off jockeying for position to get back to the pool first.

Same, it's far more often the rideshare drivers who act and drive like absolute pricks, cutting people off, racing to get in front and beat you to the LOT ect. I've seen cabbies do really nasty stuff too, but honestly more often I see someone with an Uber/Lyft decal being an ass.

With the exception of running red lights... what the **** cabbies? I get racing through a yellow, time is money... but stop running red lights!

Also, you're supposed to STOP when doing a right on red. It's treated as a STOP sign. Don't f-ing beep at me when I STOP and then proceed. It's called following the goddamn law.

Happens all of the time taking a right to the road that circles around to the terminals. I only stop for one millisecond and someone behind beeps.

Oh that drives me up a wall, I see people running through that red light without stopping all the time. I always stop, even if just for half a second, then go. But if some asshole honks at me I'll take an extra long time to check and make sure there is no traffic coming, then go, and sometimes... well I know it's petty but I have been known to wait for green if someone honks at me for following the law and stopping at that red before turning.

Yup one guy trapped himself behind me making that turn onto Jeffries and blocked the lanes coming from the rental center. I had inches to the car in front of me and he kept leaning on the horn behind me. He ended up sitting for a light cycle on that one. Yes, it's petty, but sometimes I just don't give a ****.

I moved up as much as I could for him. He shouldn't have stuck his nose in if he couldn't clear the intersection. I'm not going to hit the car in front of me because he screwed up for ****s sake.

1.Agree 100%. I always stop and look both ways and look for pedestrians when you are allowed to turn right on red. Not ALL intersections allows this to begin with.

2. Staties and many local cops make lots of major arrests when the initial reason for the stop was a minor traffic violation. It just happened the other day and 2 men from Hartford had a bunch of heroin in the car. I support the cops 100% for doing this.

3. I was heading to a business meeting in Boston today. Right before the entrance to the Sheraton an Uber driver stopped in the middle of the road, popped the trunk and 2 pax got out. He very easily could have pulled into the Sheraton and dropped by the pax. With all the construction there, 2 Boston cops were on detail. One of them immediately pulled the Uber driver over and was motioning wtf are you doing? No consideration for any other drivers and all of this adds to the congestion within the city.

Can't stand that spot...I always stop, but knowing I may get honked at or hit. That's where a cop should be writing tux!

Perhaps that should be a "no turn on red" due to the abuse.

This has always been a source of wonder for me as well.

Driving might be one of the few things that you can do all day, every day, and NOT get better at. At least if you drive for a living.

And how about the fact neither passenger was like "hey, we're in the middle of the ****ing street, pull over" to their driver?
