My first preference is for Tom Tom, now Tom Tom Go. Best routing, has traffic, warnings for cameras and does speed limit warning. But not available from Uber app.
Second preference is Google Maps. Best routing, has traffic and will reroute if it finds slow traffic ahead. Agree with Scotsman and WollyDriver about recent problems with GM, but it's been improving. If you keep your eye on the map, GM will show you alternative routings. Tap the alternate route, or just make the turn, and GM will use that alternative route.
Next is Uber app navigation. Reasonable routing, and no need to swap back and forth when starting / ending a fare.
Waze comes last. Sometimes crazy routing, relies on reports from drivers and editing by amateur editors. I was an editor for a while and was astounded at some of the crazy edits I saw some experienced editors doing. Lots of drivers report non-existant roadworks, traffic jams, police cars, etc. to earn points. I did read a few months ago that drivers who use Waze tend to have lower ratings. Others suggest that passenger like Waze. My wife laughs at the crazy routings every time I use Waze. I use it just to annoy her. :)

I use the Uber navigation to get to the pickup. If the fare is short and local, I usually use the Uber nav. If the fare is longer and there would be a few different routes, I'll use GM.

I've asked Uber to include Tom Tom Go as a navigation option, but as they're competitors I doubt we'll ever see it.

I swear by Waze being the best app especially taking into account traffic conditions, especially if you have a reasonable idea of your way around the CBD and don't rely on it too much for tunnel exits/lane changes etc. Google maps really isn't far behind.

Personally I use the Uber App. I used to use Waze, but with all the new passengers I didn't want to give pax any reason to second guess my route/navigation/etc. Also means one less app to be running on my old iPhone.

I use google maps too but lately been giving some weird crap directions....

Like Surry hills to opera house via harbour bridge, wtf...

So I don't rely on gps all the time, also some traffic congestion can be lagging...
I also have a TOM TOM gps as a backup which saved me a few times, when GM couldn't locate a street for me...

Ive been getting weird directions on goigle maps too. Left turns that should be right etc. Im really trying to like waze but that seems to throw even more errors.

My phone was recently dropped though so maybe the GPS reception is affected

Waze has some nice tools. I like the speed limit warning amd the fact I can change natrator voices

The biggest WTF I've had from Google Maps of late is it telling me to keep right while in the CCT going east bound in order to get to the ED. Because I just love sitting in traffic on New South Head Rd trying to turn back around, and then dealing with the long queue turning from William St onto the ED...

Waze, never again. Crashed 3 times in one day. Not fun with a pax in the car & the "can't reach mapping servers" error comes up. And doesn't fix itself.

GM's main problem, maybe the others too, are false locations where say the harbour tunnel is directly underneath William Street (same GPS ref.) It doesn't which you're on. Same at parts of Lane Cove with the LCT, and the western distributor which has Darling Drive underneath, and some Anzac Bridge ramps overhead.

I normally use uber app which is more benefit for driver .this stupid app takes me no through road ,end road etc etc which i like during surge trips .customers always looking in your phone nav make sure we going right way .if i stuck at these end roads i tell pax its uber nav fault .
I had Melbourne cbd 1km 2.6 x trip & uber navigate me 2.5 km to finish trip .My profit lol .
