I have a 2007 Prius driving for Uber. Will this be the final year I can drive it, since I think there is 1 year grace period? When do they notify me that it's no longer elegible for Uber..on the anniversary of me starting Uber, or the end of the calendar year December 2018?

Uber's policy is that the car has to be 10 years older or newer. Their website says 2008 or newer (10 years).

My understanding from what someone at the green light hub told me is that you're given between 3 weeks to 6 months before you are told to get another car, however the way they worded the situation to me let's me know that they themselves aren't sure when a car becomes ineligible until it happens.

I'd assume the message would be sent somewhere between February and June. I highly doubt they'll let you use it until 12/31/2018 considering that NYE is their busiest night. They technically would have to allow you to use the car until 01/02/2019 to avoid disruption on NYE going into NYD (thinking logically). Of course, logic is something Uber lacks.

If it makes you feel any better, wait until your registration has to be renewed for them to tell you it's ineligible. I'd assume that would trigger the "ineligible vehicle" prompt when they validate the new uploaded registration.

Someone with experience to this would best answer the question.

I'm currently driving a 2007 Honda and I have a 2006 bmw listed there as a second car(back up car) however,
I got a text message this week from Uber say it I have to get inspection done every 6 months for cars between 06-07
Are you a Maryland resident?

This is a HyreCar I used for 2 weeks back in November/December. Uber sent me this email I think at end of December about that car. Which I had already returned anyway. And got another.

Read it please, I hope it helps.
I find this extremely interesting that 2 people in the same situation are being handled differently.

Desertrose , I'm actually curious if you're blocked from Maryland because you don't own the car.

I drive a 2006 Honda, in my app it says 2002 and newer is good to go
What's your market?
