What's going on out there?!!!!

Things have been very weird out there for Select in my neighborhood! For starters Uber has not been putting "No UberX available" but instead just "set pickup location". So X riders are not choosing Select when no X is available.
Also since Uber stopped putting the surge on the rider app and just putting the approximated price for the ride, riders have been shying away from Select.
Any other Select drivers having similar experiences?!!
And for all you Select drivers not from my neighborhood, GET OUT!!!!! I don't need y'all invading my hood!!!
