Interesting insight caught by a California driver about pricing.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...ber-ceo-argues-with-driver-over-falling-fares

Kalanick: "You know what?"

Kamel: "What?"

Kalanick: "Some people don't like to take responsibility for their own shit. They blame everything in their life on somebody else. Good luck!"

Kamel: "Good luck to you, but I know [you're not] going to go far."

The door slams. Kamel drives away. Later, the Uber driver app prompts him to rate Kalanick, as he does all his riders. Kamel gives him one star.

I was hoping to side with the driver on this but don't think I can.. the driver was more combative than TK... I guess I assume TK is correct in saying he did not change the prices on Black? If this is true, the driver does not have much to stand on here. Anyone that has done Black for a few years know?

I would have thanked him for making rideshare a main thing even though it wasn't him who pioneered it (sidecar did) . I would also thank him for the ability to take a full year off of work and travel every month something I would have never been able to do without Uber

And then I'd tell him he needs to raise rates by 30% lol

Who knows his fate may be meeting a very angry Uber driver...
Exactly! You cant just be a completely shitty person and treating others that way all of the time and not expect someone to get fed up. Plus with these low fares, some people can't afford their meds . . . mental meds. Humble Games . . . may the odds forever be in his favor

Oversaturation = changing prices, look at where most of the full time drivers were a year or even 18 mos. ago compared to now, hell, look at where most of us part timers are.

If I owned Uber, I definitely wouldn't use it.

Flat out, he could care less about drivers, rates, and problems that aren't in the $10mil + range, period. Why would he?

At this point he is about expansion, technology and political maneuvers.

If he was as smart as he apparently thinks he is, he would go away! Appoint people to speak for him and focus on being an ambassador for his brand by doing good will around the world.

He can still stay in control and aware of operations, but step back dude. You are the CEO of a billion dollar company that has taken a nose dive in public opinion.

Fly around to the cities you operate in, donate some of your time and company resources. Build relationships instead of pissing everyone off from the legislature to the drivers.

There is no way you should get hooked like he did, by a driver, as a CEO. It shows nothing but volatility and uncertainty to investors and his brand.

His arrogance and competitive nature is going to be his undoing.
