I have a pickup at Wendy's and I already know the lobby is closed and there is line to the drive up window. I was there just gettng food for myself from there so I was prepared for the wait. After accepting the trip I get a ton of texts from the customer.

1st text: Where are you?
2nd text: I'm at the Aloft on Wasington
3rd text: Do you know where that is?

My first response: Aloft is on Washington. Yes i know where that is?

4th text: Where are you?
5th text: Are you a black guy?
6th text: *African-American.

My second response: I'm near St Thomas campus. I'm a white guy.

7th text: I don't see you.
8th text: Where are you?

My 3rd response: I'm about 4 miles from you.

9th text: I'm at Aloft on Wasington.

My 4th response: Wendy's is on University. Before I can deliver it I have to pickup your order.

10th text: Where are you?

My 5th response: I'm by St Thomas campus going to Wendy's on University.

11th text: r u driving?
12th text: How long will it take?

At this point I was annoyed so I called the customer. I was annoyed because I hate texting while driving.

The customer was from outside Minneapolis and never ordered DoorDash before and didn't understand that she ordered from a few miles out and it takes time to get the order and deliver it. I talked to her for about 20 minutes after that. I delivered the order she gave me $100 as a cash tip.

I was so close to just cancelling.

That's crazy. Some customers act very entitled. Some of them don't understand that it's just a regular person delivering, that is not making much money at all. They assume everthing is taken care of. They don't know how challenged and underpaid the delivery person is. And Uber has a vested interest in not telling them
