I was very tempted to take this just to see how bad an uber passenger has to be to have a rating of 4.27 !

No I didn't take it. It was somewhere near skid row so you might be right about the crack head. I was curious but I was in a good mood and didn't want that to change.

Lowest I've ever taken (out of curiousity) was a 4.35, and she was INSANE. Lowest I've seen was 3.8, at bar close on a Saturday. Picking up a potentially drunk 3.8 is asking for a real problem.

Prior to that, I didn't know their ratings could go below a 4.

Saw a 3.9 once didnt pick it up. But I did pick up a 4.5 it was a long trip at 2.0 last week. She was silent the whole ride besides hi and goodbye. Didnt understand how she got such a bad rating.

Pax ratings are totally meaningless. Passengers probably only have a handful of trips to go by and if they've had one driver with a no tip one star agenda then they're branded for life. Just search UP for one star and you'll find countless examples of drivers getting even with this pax for something that happened a month ago

Picked up a 4.2 one time. She wasn't mean or nasty, she just looked miserable to be alive. I still 1 starred the beeyootch!!

Late one night, I got a DF ping coming back from San Diego and the rating was 3.6. However, it was from a nice hotel in Dana Point and I figured I'd take it since there was nothing else. Of course, I waited and waited and the guy never showed up, didn't respond to texts, etc. Cancelled and outta there...

About 5 5* rides and 1 1* ride would equal close to that rating. Without knowing a total number of ratings, it is worthless to judge potential fares on a rating.

Tend to agree.
Picked up a 3.57 pax and she was one of the nicest pax that day.
Didn't tip so I suspect she had just a few rides and didn't tip another driver who gave her 1*

I've given rides to a 4.2 and even a 4.0 with no problems either time. The lowest I've seen was a 3.6 but I didn't accept because it was 18 minutes away in the wrong direction.

That's not fair to those riders who don't tip or can't afford to tip. Based on that I no longer pay attention to ratings.

If you can't afford to tip you shouldn't be taking rides for hire. Day passes on the bus are $5
