Jesus!! A totally new driver APP design before a holiday weekend.

All I know is it takes several new steps to see what the passenger paid vs driver is paid.

Surge maps are blurred with about in certain areas. ie less information for drivers to make informed decisions to choose to accept a weak surge ride or not.

Only feature that looked decent was a estimated time to next request in minutes.

Anyone have thoughts??

Well... It gave me a time to request of 6 minutes...
15 seconds later a ping for 1.2X
Think they are still working out some kinks, or it's just in concept stage right now.
It's predictive software. Very cool. I'd love to see the algorithm for my area. It'll probably say "Go home and have a sandwich and we'll call you when we need you."

It is pretty cool concept. They have the data, it's a nice thought of them to share some of it.

I'll take the go home and have a sandwich.... instead of a base fare ping.

An even more finely articulated heat map...awesome. I needed that extra .70 I would've earned to be ground down to 15 or 20.

Dara just needs a "g" in his name to be an acronym for Doesn't give A Rat's Ass (about drivers.)

My biggest beef is that, unless I just haven't figured it out, I can't get the screen map oriented to be north facing up. It keeps rotating the map every which way, I guess according to the direction you are heading or pointing. I really have a hard time with that.

There is a "compass" button on the bottom right side of the screen. But when I press it, it momentarily rotates to north-facing, but then a second later rotates back to whatever.

It's searching in every direction for a trip, it's better.

I just got the new update last night after a long ride, and rebooting my phone. Then had to go through all that tutorial popups just to get out of it, WHILE DRIVING! Ugh, really Uber?

Well... It gave me a time to request of 6 minutes...
I have that too, on Select. I saw that, and felt, meh. But dang, within minutes I got a request.

I also can't figure out how to get north is north. It rotates to an angled view, pointing in some other direction.

To get "north is north view":

1. Zoom out while logged out.

2. Scroll map off-center.

3. Log in. Map should remain oriented north.

The other fix is:

1. Zoom out and find an airport queue marker.

2. Select the queue, zoom out again.

3. Back out of the queue screen, map should remain north oriented.

Don't forget to do the special dance and praise the dark lord while doing either set of instructions.

Your welcome.

Buy me a sandwich.

The best I can figure for "estimated time to next request" is that it is a warning that there is a scheduled ride coming up near you. If you are in non-X mode and you are significantly closer than any other driver then the app will bug you to switch ride preferences into X mode so they can give you the scheduled ride. They will also do this if there are not enough X drivers near you.

"North is North"
Your first tip (non airport queue) works! Thanks!

"estimated time to next request" for non X drivers
That really makes sense, but still, I don't know about the scheduled ride portion. I've had 2 this evening, when the est time was 5-6 min (Select Only). Then it went away after I "No Thanks" on changing my "Trip Preferences." For those who aren't familiar, the Trip Preference allows multi-tier drivers to drop down to X/Pool from Select Only. But, my bad turning OFF X/Pool tonight and FORGETTING to hit the SAVE button. I almost thought Select was surging on the map! But then, I realized I had X/Pool still ON.
