I feel like 1.1 or 1.2 is too low. For me, it has to be 1.4 or higher.

For snow, it has to be 3 or higher. I don't have snow tires or AWD.

Events will be 2.0 higher. With bar closing and driving drunks, I need 2.0 higher. Maybe 1.8 if I'm thirsty.

Let's say you see 2.0 and higher and you get a 1.2 surge. I actually will pass. BUT if it's 1.4 I'll probably take it on a normal day.

I am hoping you're being sarcastic. If not Shore rate, you can't accept all requests. I would understand if most paxes tipped, but they don't. I feel guilty now that I've stopped taking $0.87/mile trips, as I had some of my best experience with paxes while taking those trips early in my Uber "career." Still, I realized how unwise it was to drive an hour, sixty miles to Manhattan for $40 or to take the parkway and drive 10+ miles and 20 minutes for $10. Taking such trips is being unfair to yourself. Again, I admit I sometime feel guilty for punishing paxes that have nothing to do with Uber's pricing, but I have to think about myself first. I drive to make money, not to accommodate paxes by driving them for minimum wage.

I don't know about the $0.87/mile areas because I've only ever gotten two surge trips in them. Sadly, I would have taken them imeven if they weren't surge rides. As for Jersey Shore rate, surge isn't necessary. I have done the math, and it seems any surge between 1.7-1.8 for the $0.87/mile is equivalent to Shore rate. Despite that, I'd probably take any surge 1.5 and above in the non-Jersey Shore towns.

I don't ever see myself driving in the snow, even at 15x surge. As for something like bar closing(Shore rate), I won't accept anything below 2.0x on a Saturday night unless it never reaches that multiplier; otherwise, I will wait until it does.

I first started with Uber over two years ago when rates were livable. I don't drive much anymore, only if I'm available and surge is 2.0, or higher. No one rides with me for .87 cents a mile!

I find it funny on what I'm willing to do at how high the surge/primetime may be. Stop for food?.... that's gotta be a 2.8X/300%ish ride. Give an auxiliary cord?....NEVER!
