Wow a 4.60 is the rating a pax would get for barfing in a car or having his dog poo all over your backseat
My willingness to overlook ratings is in direct proportion to the Surge of the trip.
Took a 4.2 rated on a 3.3X Pool. Honestly didn't even notice the 4.2 rating until I looked at the ride info screen to make sure the 3.3X was in effect.

Much depends on the merits of the case. The Guidline is 4,6. I can adjust that up or down depending on surge factors; location; time of travel; time of day; where I am when the ping comes in; events in the area. Experience becomes your guide on this one.
Ratings can be handy but not infallible. I've had high rated riders that were total F.H.P.s and had low rated that were engaging and tipped.
Personally I think ratings are given too much credence when other factors (Boost/Surge) are more important.

as many drivers have properly stated it depends on the surge.
Another important factor to consider is proximity. A lot of times a low rated ping will get passed over by many drivers and by the time that ping gets to you, it's 15+ minutes away. Forget that. Uber shouldn't even be allowed to send you a ping that far away at these low rates. That should criminal.
At base rate you never accept a pax with a rating of 4.6 or less because that is the rating that a driver is deactivated at, even though we don't know the exact rating for deactivation in the DC market. You have to apply the same standards to pax that are applied to you.

4.4 but if it's big surge you can be a chimp in pasties and stripper shoes and a 3.7 rating and I will give you a ride

I don't look at ratings anymore.
I don't know why they have the ratings they have.
The Pax ratings mean nothing to me. The ratings offer no prediction that I can use.
Having been educated on these boards, i understand that peoples' ratings might mean that they do not give tip cash, they wear perfume, they slam the car doors, they ask for Aux Cord, they are Christians, Muslims, or atheist, they try to save money by taking pool, they attempt to engage in conversation, they refuse to engage in conversation, they go to college, they live in a certain neighborhood, they sit in the front seat, they sit in the back seat, they sit behind the driver, they sit on the passenger side, they are 18 years old and high school students (BAD), they are 18 years old and not high school students (GOOD), they help with directions (BAD), they don't help with directions (GOOD). They had a good day and we had a bad day (BAD), they had a good day and we had a good day but there's two of them (BAD), etc.
I refuse to notice their rating. I hope they refuse to notice mine.

Uber sent me a ping yesterday morning around 500am ish in kingstowne when I started my way into the city. There was NO SURGE but the ping said 1.2. I was like sure I’ll take it. I had my DF set for my secret fire spot . I did a double take because I didn’t know why it gave me a peanut surge. Ummmmm this girl had a rating of 4.4 oh and of course it said Premium Pickup Possible!! I went to her house 7 minutes away .. out of my way to my destination.. she puts her live location on in her house. I wait and wait annnnnnnnnd wait . After 5 minutes I texted her .. no response.. then I cancelled . I want to know what gets you a 4.4... uuuuhhhhh well lemmmeee take a wild guess at one of the reasons.

They can get there by simply huffing, puffing or sighing; that's a 1*, my list for handing out 1* is pretty long & 2 3 4 don't exist for me
Also if I cancel someone on a pool trip then all witnesses get 1*

Ill accept any rating but that doesnt mean that the person will get into the vehicle or even if they get in, that they will make it to their destination

boobs and a firm backside have a similar effect on me...its okay to give in to temptation if you accept the consequences, have a contingency plan and an exit strategy
