How long has the background process been taking. It's a little frustrating when you have a clean background and it's been 27 days and no word on the background check. I'm over it!!!
What is the deal with these background checks?!?

They're not desperate to hire, give it a few weeks, but keep on emailing them.

I suspected they were simply stalling. I had another friend apply after me and was approved in a matter of days. The irony is his background was far from squeaky clean. Here I am getting the run around. I contact them every couple of days just for the same song and dance.

From my experience, uber throws in a gauntlet of drivers. Once most stop driving they'll throw in a new batch. At this point they got it covered, Tampa bay needs about 1,000 drivers, seems like they've got 2,500 at the moment, give it 2 more weeks then they'll let you lose money driving too.

Over it why do you want to drive for Uber if you think waiting for the background check is frustrating wait to you make 65 cent per Miles and people live in death out of your car then you truly will be over it figure it out drive 10 miles times $.65 per mile just made $6.50 -25% for Huber

Newbie here! Signed up on Sunday, Approved on Tuesday, diving on Tuesday night. $36 not bad for 90 minutes worth of driving while working for my other job too.

Minus gas, dead head miles, new driving habits to your car. Not to mention that 36 bucks in 90 minutes can easily turn into 44 bucks in 5 hours.

I'm being selective since this is only for vacation / beer money. No dead head miles since I was working extra field jobs for my normal 7a to 5p job. I get a break on fleet fuel so that's covered as well. I'm only driving when it will make sense for me and maximize profit. I don't need to drive 5 days a week...yet....but just a few evenings and maybe one or two Saturdays a month.

This really isn't rocket science. As my time allows, if I make $50 a week or if I make $400 a week, it's all good. Good luck out there.
