Judging from recent activity on this board, it looks like all the drivers have died. When this is all over, and those few of us who survived start driving again, we'll monopolize the market. We'll be rich. RICH I tell you!

Rich? I think you need a drug test....:wink:

I am sure that many will not survive this event financially. I am looking to buy a newer car and will wait till it gets really bad and pick up a really good deal.

Slower than normal on weekdays, making 30% less money, Saturdays are mormal so far.
Bummer. I guess I won't be driving anytime soon. I don't want to sit on the street corner for long periods waiting for a ping. I am on standby and might get deployed south to Texas or Louisiana to treat COVID19 patients. It pays well but it is also lots of work and there was a reason that I retired.

I stopped driving as my sister was nagging me EVERY DAY because I am at high risk. I actually was enjoying it. I stayed on the periphery near home in East Portland because when this first started, downtown sucked. Blue collar people can't telecommute. I probably could have made the same amount of money spending more time driving with exposure to Covid 19 eventually and with greater times and distances between rides. Thus for the same amount of money the expenses went up significantly. On the positive side gasoline is cheap! But Driver, I do agree, I think there is a balance between drivers and passengers. They should give hazard pay like everyone else, but hey, it is Uber and Lyft.
