Under normal circumstances, what happens when your safety inspection expires? I figure U/L app will not let you drive, but do they also deactivate your account? Is it going to be a pain in the butt to get going again if I add the new safety after it expires?

(actual context: mine expires April 1st, but I don’t feel like getting the safety done before then since I’m not driving anyway)

I didn't drive for about 10 months when I lived out west. I reapplied when I returned I.E. Uploaded my documents, and on the road in a few days. I was able to work anywhere but Toronto. Your PTC license might need renewel. That takes almost a week.

Are garages still open? Dealers are only providing "emergency services" now. Safeties are not considered as "essential services". LOL Hope the RS companies don't start deactivating people for the inspection that cannot be completed.

My brother works at a dealership. They're hurting for business and would gladly take the work and do a safety. I dropped by last week and all the vehicles in the shop were that of people that work at the dealership.

I'm not driving but I took my car in to my local mechanic when I got out of self isolation after traveling to the USA.

My safety is due tomorrow. I uploaded it Monday. It has been three days and it's still showing as pending. Things aren't moving very fast on the platform at all.

On a side note, my annual background check is due in 30 days, I got the reminder for that today and notification Triton would be sending an email shortly, it's been several hours and no email from Triton.

I had same issue... ended up going to the green hub to force the email. As for safety... mechanics are open... at least they were last week. I will be getting the snow tires off probably in week or two, so will see if they still remain open. One thing, some might be closed due to lack of workforce... guy at the shop told me few of his guys were self isolating.

I pulled my snow tires off for the Florida road trip (Mar.11-22) with the intent of putting them back on upon my return. Self Isolation protocol after USA visit looks to have eliminated the need for that. Not sure when I will be driving again.

Best case scenario that the curve is flattened will be in July/August. However, even if social distancing is lifted, I can imagine the economical ramifications will not be pretty. Expect a recession or depression for 2020. Demand side of the economy will be weak as the extent of unemployment will be great and the loss of numerous small and medium size businesses. :frown::geek::geek::frown:

I wouldn't be surprised if the US does a round of "stimulus" cheque's to the public once this is in the rear view. Similar to 2008/2009.

The economy will need a jumpstart.
