What driving in Rhode Island is REALLY like

One thing seems to be matching what's common in Boston. We seem to have a growing collection of staging lot loiterers. Six, eight, sometimes ten cars in one corner looking like a tailgate party at a Beirut soccer game.
Something interesting happened last night. I lucked out with timing and pulled into the Logan staging lot just as an $8 surge came up. They gave me 16-20 in the queue and I parked the car. I checked the app and saw that suddenly the wait was 21 minutes for anybody new and that the line for them was now 121 cars. So the only way this could have happenned was for roughly 100 cars to go online just after I got there.

I don't know much about driving in Rhode Island. But the other day I took somebody to Warwick so he could go to the casino. Turned on a destination filter to Boston, got an old style 4.9x surge from Providence to Bellingham. These guys wanted to go through a Taco Bell drive through and I said ok. For that trip, got $109 plus a tip bringing it to $127.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone who knew how to work the surge down there could make good money.

Yeah, he was trying to book a hotel on the phone on the ride down and having trouble, they were booked up. He was going to meet up with friends and head out from there. It was the best he could do. Not sure about your other points. Anyway, I'm attaching a copy of the receipt for the trip from Providence to MA. If I drove down there I would keep it a secret I guess, but Boston is fine for me.

Well whatever happened that night, there were an incredible number of people there. If my trip was shorter I would have gone back for more, there was good money to be made. I suppose somebody could be really up on current events in that area and know just where and when to wait and do well.

In fairness, this thread was more or less opened to attack imma and say there's no way he could make $30 an hour. To "prove" this, earnings were presented from around noon. as though that is supposed to be a fair comparison to imma drving the surge. Given the circumstances we should be wiiling to listen to imma present evidence to the contrary.
