Hi there, I'm in the process of being approved as an UBER driver in Sydney. Currently I have to wait a few more days until my national criminal check comes back.

What I am wanting to know, what does UBER disqualify when it comes to checks? 8 years ago I did go to Queensland court due to driving an unregistered car and can not remember if the judge recorded it as a conviction.

Does UBER look back that far to make there decisions?

Any help would be great to ease the nerves as I am ready to start driving for UBER.

No they do that after the National Criminal Check comes back. I gave them my RMS driving history and they said it was all good. Any suggestions?

I was caught driving an unregistered car about 7-8 years ago and it comes up on my criminal history
check. I was fined about $90, these days the fine is like $1000. I applied for a taxi licence last year here in SA
and I received the licence no problems.

You should be ok. But it's probably best to make some phone calls first.

If you've committed an illegal indiscretion in your past, then you'd think it'd been filed and available for their perusal to determine if you're eligible to drive on this platform. 50/50 call is my bet!..

Yes I would be very worried like I was until it comes. My driving record used enough paper to ring bark a tree.
However when the check finally arrived. There was one outstanding fine in Hobart 15 years ago. Didn't even know I had it . Was in an rental car and no one chased me on it . It's made no difference to Uber. Guess I just need to be carefull next time I go to Tassie.
