July 4th weekend, i worked roughly 2.5 of the 3 day shore guarantee and had a nice $850 weekend..and on Friday of that weekend i spent last 3 hours watching netflix..
This past weekend? ZILCH.. ZERO. There was practically no surge on Uber (i didnt chexk lyft) and what surges i did see were nowhere near usual rates. So F it i didnt turn a rideshare wheel with Uber..i just cant justify .85 a mile in my head.. and $4 fares...makes me angry lol.. BUT..I have thought about trying to just take ALL pings as an experiment for a weekend and post my results here. Everything from miles driven, $ spent on gas, etc. Just to really see how bad it would be.. dunno if i will do it, i might feel like an idiot the whole weekend and end up drinking my "profits" away lol..

Have fun. Check out Lakewood guaranteed $4 per hour there . Probably do better in your home area than down here At least you know your area and North at least surges.

Oh no, 85 cents only, no shore. That is the challenge, we all know shore is double mileage rate. Ok to take surge when available. 100% acceptance rating, no calling for destination. Old fashioned Uber like it used to be before the damn rate cuts.

It was surging on the shore, just not when anyone expected it or where they expected it. I got 32% of my fares as surge with a little less than half of that on Monday night when it started raining.

Occasionally there is a day or 2 that just trying it out won't hurt. Take my Sunday for instance, after all was said and done I earned about $19.50 per hour, not bad for part time and all my rides except 1 were at the 85 cent rate. Did get pulled into Point from South Amboy and received a trip from Point to Howell. Used about 1/2 tank of gas. I know there will be people ripping into this and analyzing, not interested in those comments. Just going to say that some days are better than others, and during a time where I was not doing anything, I decided to turn the app on and enjoy the day. Just to be open and honest, I hate the 85 cent rates, but for the times I drive I don't have much of an option.
