Well I got my first muliple stop trip last night.

It was in error because I normally ask if they are going directly to their final destination, but this time I did not. One stop was to Kroger, and it was suppose to be for only 2 minutes, but it turned out to be 12 min. I would have taken the bad rating and ended the trip, but I couldn't because she left a bag in my back seat, urgh!! Then the next stop was to the MC D's drive thru. I only did it because no one else was is line, and it still took 8 minutes because of her special request order. Total trip distance was less than 6 miles. Total pay was less than $7. Total aggravating time spent with this pax was more than 40 min. Its time for a new job or a new strategy to weed out the multiple stop request uber seems to be encouraging. Has anyone else had multiple stop request yet?

Yeah, this is not a benefit for drivers.

Sometimes I find telling them they are being charged by the minute and what they are seeing in the app is only the estimate. If they ask, I tell them I think it's about a $1/minute or $36/hr and they might want to end the ride rather than pay that fee. They do end it quickly.

Learn from your mistakes. I would be up front and tell them stops are not included and it's a 5.00 charge minimum per stop, and a dollar for every minute over five minutes while waiting.

This is more than fair and if they complain you can for sure believe they will low rate you, but you can do the same. Drivers can recover from lower ratings far easier than passengers can.

Are you saying you ignore low rated pax during a surge request? Pax ratings are the last thing I consider. I have even ignored a low rated pax and after accepting the next ping, I was 'rematched' by Uber to the pax I had ignored. Pointless.

So you are meaning math, so for part time drivers, they don't recover quicker than riders that use Uber a lot, gotcha.

Duh! You think?
Swipe to complete trip. Bad ratings pay the same as 5 star comment and compliment trips. Politely reply that you have something else to do.

Totally emphasize with you as I, personally, despise stops. However, was just looking for the stop feature, in my rider app, and found it.

The limit is 3 minutes per stop. To see this: tap "Where To" box in rider app > tap + > add stop drop down comes up with message stating: "Please limit stops to 3 minutes".

I plan on enforcing this policy and, due to liability reasons, no leaving items in vehicle. Then I'll take the one star rating & end trip.

Also, easy to show them this policy in your rider app.

You waited too long, should have dumped the rider. I had two riders get in and the lady wanted me to take her friend to a different location in the opposite direction. When I said no she got rood and belligerent and cancelled trip. Two blocks from the pickup I turned around and took her back.
I would have said yes but upon arriving at her destination I would had the passenger change the drop off location to the 2nd passengers drop off. And you would have been paid for both drop offs.
And possibly avoided the conflict.
I suggested that and she said no. She wanted 2 4 1

Drivers are paid for time and miles. You would have only lost 75 cents by doing 1 trip instead of 2. Changing the destination only protects the driver from fare disputes. It doesn't change the money for the trip.
I would agree with negeorgia in that changing destinations really just protects the driver. It really depends on my rider and how much of a chance I think they will dispute the fare or if it is not close then I will ask them to update it. But like Saturday night I picked up 4 pretty intoxicated middle aged (rich) housewives at Chastain. They were pretty giddy and talking about $4K dollar mattresses amongst other things. They all lived in the same general area of the 68 zip (Marietta above the Chattahoochee) but all needed to be dropped off at home but had to go in a weird order because one left her phone at another ones house. They were pretty wasted and half the time couldn't remember who's phone the Uber ride was even on so trying to get them to change it would have been a serious challenge. I wasn't to worried about them disputing it and frankly as I got out to let each respective one out at their respective house I got a tip from each one, 2x$5, 1x$10 and 1x$20, the $20 was from the last one to get dropped off who had been talking on the phone with her husband and he was out in the driveway when we arrived and he is the one who actually tipped me and thanked me for getting them all home safe and had that look like I know you earned this. So essentially after wandering around east Marietta the fare netted out at $44 plus $40 tip so this is why if they want to detour unless it is something outrageous I do and depending on the circumstances don't bother having them update the destination.
