But no, uber and lyft have your best interests at heart. Bahahahaha
You are all lucky the California Supreme Court is going to bail you out.

The study, released on Sept. 21, was the result of a collaboration between PolicyLink — a progressive research and advocacy organization — and Rideshare Drivers United, a California driver advocacy group. Cuz you just know a progressive group doesn't know how to do mathToo funny.

I'm sure they have tons of data to back up their conclusion.

Prop 22 wages are 20% more than AB5 so I guess we are saved from making $5.00 per hour.

I mean I get why pax would vote for prop 22, but the moron drivers who did, that is baffling. We (experienced drivers) all predicted exactly what would happen, and it did. What will happen next is, the California Supreme Court will rule prop 22 unconstitutional, so the law will revert back to ab5. Uber and lyft will fight it in court and give drivers a few things to make it look like we are independent contractors. While this is happening, uber/lyft will make a deal with California, very similar to what uber gave us before prop 22. Destination and driver multiplier. BUT the state won't put any checks into making sure uber and lyft aren't manipulating the app, and that is exactly what they will do. Both of these companies have proved time after time they can not be trusted, but the state will trust them and drivers will once again be boned in the butt.Cuz you just know a progressive group doesn't know how to do math
But it sure felt good getting that 3X surge while it lasted!but the state will trust them and drivers will once again be boned in the butt.
" but, but, but.... It's the only way that we can keep our independence!!!! "Is there anyone really stupid enough to believe that a ballot initiative sponsored by Uber and Lyft would result in better pay for drivers?
Apparently yes. Lots of stupid people aka voters fell for the pro-Prop 22 propaganda put out by the rideshare companies that was saturating the airwaves at the time.
Don't worry Democrats always know what's best for you. Keep voting for them. The Countries doing great isn't it?'. Well at least we don't have a president with a fake tan anymore, right? Hope you're all happy. Lol.![]()
Uber and Lyft drivers net less than $7 an hour after California law passed, driver-led study finds
Report on effects of California's Proposition 22 shows "broken promises" on wages, health care, something the gig companies are pushing back against.www.marketwatch.com
Yes, this was a classic example of the false dilemma fallacy, and drivers fell for it. The false dilemma was that the choice was only between (a) Uber's biased-in-favour-of-Uber version of IC (Uber controls the prices that IC charge, trip information concealed, high degree of control over IC etc) and (b) employee status with even more rigid Uber control over drivers." but, but, but.... It's the only way that we can keep our independence!!!! "
What a bunch of horse
Prop 22 was probably the worst thing that could have happened, imho. That "independence" is an illusion and Uber and Lyft got everything they ever wanted with 22, while throwing a few crumbs back to make 22 look good.
I feel betrayed. Is there anyone really stupid enough to believe that a ballot initiative sponsored by Uber and Lyft would result in better pay for drivers?

I can't wait for all the stupid drivers to get their employee status. Can’t wait to see you all as employees
Unfortunately it will never happen, they will leave California firstI can't wait for all the stupid drivers to get their employee status.
Stock up on your popcorn when the real horseshow begins.
If that happens there will still be plenty of crying.Unfortunately it will never happen, they will leave California first
We will seeIf that happens there will still be plenty of crying.
AB5 will also include all of the delivery apps.
Are they going to leave as well?
