Has something changed in rider apps? I dont know if its an anomaly but I've been getting weird tip amounts and surprisingly more riders seem to be tipping.

When I was in college I had a friend of mine tell me something to the effect, "You have weird girls who want to sleep with you." But like tips, there is no such thing as bad sex in college.

So, do I get tips in those amounts? Yes. Are they weird? No such thing as bad or weird tips

Im not complaining, I am still seeing the $1 $2 Etc tips but these started showing up and I wondered whether Uber changed something to add a tip amount such as 10%, 15% etc for the riders.

Yes there is now a percentage option after the ride.. In order for a rider to be able to actually enter an exact amount, they must hit 2 or 3 more buttons making it essentially worthless because it requires more effort on their part

If the percentage tip screen popped up with options for 15% 20% and 25% with the 20% option default highlighted it would change the economics of our job tremendously. Uber has to acknowledge to its customers that we are paid service industry wages (as they state in their IPO paperwork) and accordingly passengers need to be brought to modern times on the tipping.
