Hello there, first i would like to thank all the Uber drivers for their service and I want to let you guys know that your service is highly appreciated. I am in the middle of conducting a research paper about uber and it's busines model. If you guys could help me with one of my questions I would highly appreciate it. My question is for for both full time drivers and part time drivers. how much do you guys make on a weekly basis, and how many drives do you do each day? I thank you in advance,
Sincerely, Josh AKA "doberman617"

Next time, ask forum members to privately message you their information. A thread like this is bait for the hungry trolls.

No matter what the thread is about, this is what happens in every single one of them. Get used to it. Good luck in your endeavors in this forum.

Not your fault. You asked an honest question and deserve an honest answer. You don't deserve this bullshit:
I make 100k a year, do about 5 to 10 drives a day,
Why people take their time to post like this is beyond me but it's bad for me, you, and anyone trying to get at the truth of this business by sharing information.

We get these people from time to time, he'll go away when he's tired of taking shit.
After all expenses a full time uber driver will make $12-14 per hr while a split shift full timer will make a bit more at $16-20 per hr. The part timer can range from $10-$30 per hr.
Thanks for the breath of fresh air, and not wasting our time.

And...that's after expenses BUT before taxes, correct?

i have my own car, i usually make $700 to $1,000. averages out to be $20 an hour, depending on demand.30 - 50 hours a week. i use both apps

the billboards and radio adds are bullsheet about our earnings
You make $700-$1000 weekly after gas, depreciation, insurance, maintenance and repairs? And a newbie may not know we have to pay double social security taxes, right?

See, everyone tosses around figures, but nobody is consistent by providing details: do you lease, rent or own; gas deducted?, tolls deducted?, insurance (assuming you didn't have a car but now do for Uber) or extra TNC gap coverage available in some markets; repairs, maintenance, 20% vs. 25% commission, etc. Does a driver own the car and just use the IRS mileage deduction?

I realize not every poster wishes to get into all of the details just listed, but if not, the figures are kind of irrelevant.

to clarify: that is my weekly payout average

i kind of thought that since we are subcontractors that those details were a given. so essentially that is pre tax with toll reimbursement
i usually take the mileage deduction plus a few other business related deductions because i own my car
insurance, phone, charger cables, bluetooth headphones etc to name a few off the top of my head.

Yep thats why I replied with the average hourly after Ubee fee but before gas and expenses because everyone has diff expenses. Even the average hourly is a huge spread before expenses due to reasons in my post (1st reply on thread).

I know how much I make a week and my average hourly but my average hourly is alot more than most because of my driving style and that I barely ever do non surge/boost rides. But my weekly fluctuates greatly based on surge and demand because i can afford to only work when busy and I live in the city so i see a surge turn app on for an hour or 2 and go offline when surge dies.

Eg. 3 weeks ago made ~$1700 at around $42/hour where as last week i made ~$600 around $31/hour (after gas but before depreciation and other expenses)

I was grossing $30/hour a year ago, it is closer to $20/hour for the last ~4 months. The main difference has been the addition of pool and the lack of surges (comparatively). If I'm selective about my hours it is higher, averaging $30/hour (for instance 7pm-2am Friday and Saturday nights). I am perhaps not the best example though, I do not chase every dollar out there, opting for less stress and slightly lower take-home.
