Why take the trip n complain about it later?
because even if the pay is crap, the bills still have to be paid? Better than not making anything, even if it does suck. At least it paid almost $1/mile. I've seen offers that paid 50 cents a mile and nothing for time. Now those should definitely be declined.

He didn't know he was going to end up with less than half of the total until AFTER he completed the ride.
Well, don't pay attention to what pax paid. Focus on what's worth. When demand is low, we all get paid shit.
Either drive busy hour or do expect shit pay a later in the day.

If driving full time, average out earnings via online time, n don't stress over individual trips.

That's exactly what Dara and his henchmen hope the drivers will do. They bank on drivers not giving a shit about leaving money on the table.

I for one hate leaving money on the table, especially when a greedy scumbag organization is the one taking my money off the table and putting it into their pockets.

No competent business owner would ever say they don't care how much of a cut the other business is getting in a deal.

Your advice on individual trips is also music to Dara's ears. It could be that you and others who tell people not to focus on individual trips have your own "acceptable" percentage of trips in which Uber grabs outrageous cuts. Maybe you're OK with Uber doing it 5% or 10% or 30% of the time. Others may have different percentages.

I guess I'm funny that way because to me, there's NO acceptable percentage. Any percentage above 0% is too high for me.

Based on what I'm hearing and reading, drivers are becoming increasingly fed up with it. More and more pax are telling me that their drivers are talking about it and that's a good thing.

And when “your friend” is injured in an accident….?
Do the same as you would get in an accident with a friend.
Go to therapy n get your treatments n go after the opposing insurance.
It's simple.

I drove Uber for like 7 years ish and I never ever told my insurance I was ubering n I had few accidents. Nothing happened 🤷

You going to therapy doesn’t do anything for the pax. It’s obviously not as simple as you’re trying to make it.

The very major difference is that in what you’re suggesting it would be insurance fraud and there’s no way to guarantee the total stranger you just gave a ride to will also commit insurance fraud.

I can tell you are either older guy or white or both...which one are you? 😅
If you are converting an Uber rider as your private client...how many times do u need to see each other to declare that person isn't a stranger anymore?

Let's say you are at sofi stadium.
Some "STRANGERS" walk up to you and offer you 100$ to take them to Santa Monica.
Would you take it?

LOL! None of that has anything to do with anything.
Like you just said, they’re a client, not a friend of family member. When you lie to an insurance company that’s the definition of insurance fraud. A client probably isn’t going to go along with that.

A client becomes your friend. Your friend becomes your gf, your gf becomes your ex. Your ex becomes your enemy. Your enemy becomes your best friend.
