Was walking through the loop/west loop and saw two tow trucks moving and on the lookout for illegally parked vehicles (cars parked in cab spots near OTC, standing vehicles on Madison). The owner of the vehicle stranding on Madison & Franklin just made it back to his car. A tow appeared certain.

This cash strapped city working on making their quotas now in advance of Memorial Day.

Well actually they are making us a favor, those randomly parked vehicles and cabbies are only making the whole picture uglier. Your best bet will be just to follow the rules and park where is appropriate, and try not to leave your car unattended in DT, if a 'meter' guy come to you, you can just disappear before he took that picture of your plate. Thank you for the topic though, it's good to know that the city ants are out there swiping with the big broom just before Memorial Day.

Kan I get a coke with my rum?
video unrelated just my crazy EDM love

Drink this---I can't remember a time those yellow bandits weren't trolling for the man downtown. like uber drivers--they prefer off hours because people think there won't be patrols...
And then they can snag 2-3 mebbe 4 in an hour.

Drivers trying to be slick looking for early ORD runs--ought well beware. Get if you get in the cross hairs of one of those yellow cats and I'm not sure its easy just to try and pull away and pray--I've seen them block you in.

And the quick upn pimpsmack of "just follow the rules..."

Annoying as hell and proof you don't do what I do.
Or you'd know
nearly impossible

Fair enough that Chicago has strict zones and restrictions, plus special events. What I don't like is that you need to walk an entire block and sometimes ACROSS THE STREET to figure out what type of parking is permissible.

I parked in an apparently cool parking zone, (I just recall that it was Milwaukee) checked, next to a permit dispenser saying "not necessary until 7 am." It SHOULD have had a sticker or something on it, saying "no parking between October 15-April 15" realistically nearby, not at the other end of the block. (Yup, towed.) Same for neighborhoods with resident-purchased parking. Ask anyone who lives in the city about this stuff--NO CLUE cuz they got NO CAR.
