Hasn't happened.
But I would tell them the same thing I tell everyone that wants me to wait.
I don't get make any money waiting.
None.
Tips are more likely to come out then.

Only lost my composure two or three times with riders in 5k rides. One was a when a woman said " I am Effing paying you, you'll do what I effing tell you to do." It was 20 minutes into what should have 3 minute ride. She got out to pray with a homeless guy. Her boyfriend said to hurry up and she lost it.. she got in the car and slammed the door. I ended the ride and told her to get out. She would not exit. I told her she was going to wind up in tje hood if she didn't get out. She tried hitting me from the back seat. I leaned forward and she couldn't reach me. I laughed at her.. this really pissed her off.. I started to drive and she opened the door, cursed me and got out.. the boyfriend apologised and handed me a wad of cash. She flipped out on him. Then she slapped or kicked my car.
I got pissed.
I'm not proud of what i did next but I did it. I rolled along side her as she was walking and taunted her for a few minutes. I'm sure I called her a few names. crazy C*** etc... Then I pointed at my phone reminding her I knew where she lived and told to remember that I knew where she lived.
I reported her, told support she verbally and physically assaulted me. Uber called me, oh 20 minutes or so later... this was almost 2 years ago.
I ordered my dash cam later that night..

Heh, no. We make mere cents for waiting. And it's my property. And, I'm an independent contractor, which permits me to accept, reject, end or cancel rides on my whim. Making the customer NOT the boss, but ME the boss. I'll stop and wait if we have a mutual understanding of what respect is, where it's due, and you can get me to like you. If anyone of these things do not align, out you go.

It does not sound like you are fit to work in a service industry. SERVE being the key component. It is our job to serve these folks and provide for their needs. It's not even a call out. It's just not true. They pay you for your waiting time. Maybe not as much as driving time or as much as one would like, but they pay.

No Frankie boy. You're askewed in your views as to how this works. This isn't service. This is rideshare, sharing your car for a ride with someone for a single ride, and you only make money if you learn how to play the rest of the human race like a violin.

Tried to tell it like it is once with a pax. The conversation went no where
Me. "After Ubers cut I only get paid 8 cents a minute. That equates to $4.80 an hour. Before taxes. Would you like to work a job that paid $4.80 an hour? Before taxes?
Pax: So your'e getting paid something for just waiting..
Me: A lousy 8 cents a minute
Pax: Yeah. But Uber is paying you something.
Me: $4,80 an hour is terrible by 2018 standards.
Pax: But you are being paid for waiting like you said.Right?
Me: Like I said. Only 8 cents a minute.
Pax: So you are getting paid instead of getting nothing? . Right? Etc Etc
Conversation went nowhere.

That's why it's "I'm only earning if my wheels are turning. I don't get paid if we're not moving."
Ten cents a minute is an insult and a joke and not worthy of a mention - why try to explain it or rationalize with pax who aren't clued in enough to get it?

Alot of them get it.They just won't admit it.That pax got it when I ditched him at his grocery store " only be a few minutes or so" stop.
