Hi all. I am a new Uber driver and I just got my Transportation-for-Hire Driver's License from the city of Dallas. My car has also passed the inspection at one of the approved locations and I have the form that the mechanic filled out. Now the last piece of the puzzle, how do I get my window decal? Where do I go? What documentation do I need? I have already submit an application to register my vehicle at the transportation-for-hire vehicle portal.

The local uber office or the transportation for hire office that you got the permit at both should have stickers

It took about 2 weeks.

Uber office does not provide permit anymore. You will need to go to the transportation office. Before you go please give them a call to be sure about the day/hours and the documents you will need to bring with you. I think they give permits on Mon/Wed/Fri only during certain hours. You will need to take your car registration doc and driver permit with you.

When I look at the Dallas Transportation Regulation office in google maps I see a picture showing that the transportation-for-hire decal will only be issued on Mon, Wed, Fri 8:30am - 11:00am & 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Sweet, thanks. I will be sitting there at 8:30 on Friday I guess. Now if they would just give me my driver's permit while I am there I can head straight to DFW to be all legal and stuff.

Do you have to wait for the driver permit before getting the vehicle permit?

I think they were saying you need your driver permit before the vehicle one. I renewed mine on Friday. Got up there about 9ish and left about 11:45. They are slowwwwwwww

I am still unsure about what documentation to bring. I tried to call them today but no one picked up. I guess I will just bring the driver permit and the inspection documentation. Do you think I need to bring anything else?

I would bring the vehicle registration as well.

Do you have to take your car to get the sticker.or they will just give the sticker . Because sometimes I drive different car and if I am downtown that time I am planning to get the sticker . Don't want to drive there only for sticker .

I got a ticket for not having Permit and do uber in Dallas. My question is, if I get Dallas Permit, do I need to get permits for all the other cities around? Like Fort Worth, Denton, Plano, McKinney, etc. Do I need permits foe every city? If I'm Planning to drive only in Denton area who needs to give me the permits?

No permots.needed except for airport starting Sept 1

That i what I told the judge officer in court. But they told me this is not true. I even show him the papers I got from uber website but they didn't care. I got two fines. One for not having my own permit and one for not having my car's. Very expensive. Almost all what I made on the last two months. I got these tickets in AA center. At a Stars game. Dropping passengers.
