Why not find an office in central and work for them?
Most are not big enough to cover all areas regularly and also my existing car will be too old soon anyway. Why not find an office in central and work for them?
Thanks for your reply. I get what you're saying as Ive driven for them in the past, and I will give it some thought but I feel there are just too many negatives associated with them.Uber is for perfect for what you need. It will take you all over London in all different directions and start points.
Use uber as they have used thousands of drivers, pass the k faster.
Don't worry about what other people think.
And most of all, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
Good luck
Good job you should be ready to be taxi driver when the first waymo is here.Has anyone here have any experience with the above please?
Can you work both simultaneously?
Or another firm I haven't considered?
Currently I work Friday and Saturday night for my local office in the burbs which is fine but I'm not getting enough time in London to help me with my knowledge studies.
I want flexible part time whole of London based work. I won't drive for Uber so I'm thinking that only really leaves exec if I want to cover all of London.
My existing car will be too old to take into town from next April, plus it's done 250k miles so I'm gonna change it anyway and working in town will really help.
I've driven for AL before but in their car so I know when renting you have to do full time so I'm weighing my options to go exec with my own car to keep the flexibility.
Thoughts?

I personally know people that have only used a Car and passed. The only way to do Knowldge is your Bike
Not possible to do uber and Knowldge on same timeHas anyone here have any experience with the above please?

A bike is easier as you can stop nearly anywhere and push your bike.Need just bike on week days to learn London
Never said not possible I know ppll did it very few years ago before uber and cycle superhighwayI personally know people that have only used a Car and passed.
Not the only way.
Before I start it not personal or been rude just fact and my experienceMomo
Not possibleto do uber and Knowldge on same time? Didn't you work for uber while doing the k?
Most local offices are only surviving because they are doing airports and stations at a silly cheap prices.the pax only use them because they can pre book and get a set fare. Oh, and because they don't want to go on motorways in a uber lol
I've never attempted the k but logic is logic, most of us can go anywhere in London from our home address N S E W
And that's the same as a local office, same starting point.
But what you really need is different starting points and that's what uber gives you. Even if you are not doing a run you can still go over the points you pass.
Does the opp work days/nights is excec on days at weekends the way to go?
Anyway, I base my comments on my own experience. I've been a driver for over 30 years. And if you work for one company the work get repetitive and you stop learning. So if the opp does work for a local office change offices often and move areas.
Ps I've learned more of London with uber than I have with any other company I've worked for.
Yep, I was one and watched a number of my Mini Cab buddies pass out.70% of applicants on Knowldge gave up
Working as a Private Hire Driver and doing the Knowledge is not to burn yourself out.work is work and study is study can't mix
As you don't get the address up front. So every trip you do on Uber is testing you and its completely random just like it would be driving a cab. That's got to be beneficial?
Yes when you're on road it much easier And simpleSurely as a black cab driver you can pickup on any street in London and the pax tells you where they want to go and within seconds you have to pick a route, or at least a direction and off you go.
With an office you know where the pax is going and have plenty of time to pick a route.

Dude I didn't want to point this out but the Knowledge has an "e" in it lolKnowldge
No problemDude I didn't want to point this out but the Knowledge has an "e" in it lol
A number of posts in this thread spelled the word Knowledge wrong, I guess that is why its a Verbal Test.
Just a friendly jest, not a personal jibe![]()
