Guys I was told two officers on the arrival level of RSW are issuing tickets, they're in plain view. It appears it's issue citation only and go, but beware. Apparently a guy in a Uber XL was cited. Heads up.

Good question, maybe they observed the actual pickup and the rider sat in the back seat or the driver was just upfront and honest who knows. I was also told the authorities had what looks like ready made ticket packets all set to go.

If you are a Collier County resident, you cannot get ticketed for dropping of at RSW.

They probably know when they hail you via the app which provides your license plate, a personal photo and specific vehicle description

Would you please verify or provide additional source information; otherwise this POST SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RUSE by the taxie & limo companies to discourage free enterprise service to RSW passengers.

A review of the Lee County court records at this time does not list any recent citations at RSW.

I believe it. It's season. They did a few scare campaigns last year. As long as they are charging people for permits to pick-up at RSW, this will occur. And it will be the port authority citing you. It's their own jurisdiction.

(I'm out of area; dallas has permit requirements but only 56$ ; Lyft reimburses)
... and an extra inspection for ~40-50; Vehicle sticker from City $3

But even if we could get a permit the pings actually from the airport wouldn't come through because of the black out.

Uber is killing taxi and other car services as I type, I can't wait till we get into airport and put MBA out of business.
