I have seen offer cards that pay 70%-80% of what a ride should pay based on miles, minutes Base and gas fee.... but then the boost brings it back up.
I have seen this multiple times. I have proof, screen copies and more.

This is not right. They lowered the rates for drivers in April. Now this. It is like Lyft cutting the rates years ago and I hate it.
I hope to quit this when I can find something else suitable unless things change.

Frankly I cannot work normal hours without a promotion going on... or I am pretty much losing money. Forget insurance... forget car maintenance... Forget feeding my family. Foret vacations. I should not have to work an 60-80 hour week or extra hours when the pay is so low.

I'm in Charlotte too. I wind up declining probably 70% of the rides. I have been documenting this as well. Recently I have had a customer that has waited for 5 hours for a ride. Uber originally offered it at $10 and some change. 5 hours later it was $19. According to the customer his price never changed. I've also had them offer me multiple rides that would literally put $2-3 an hour in my pocket after I pay for fuel and that's not counting wear and tear etc.

THAT is the reason Uber dumped time & mileage rates.
So they could pay the drivers less??? What kills me is that they pitch it as a great service to drivers. What an insult! Even the toxic intellectually challenged (and stinky car) drivers know that this is a rip off. Hoping that when drivers quit, they will come around... but that is not likely. All they had to do was keep it like it was before April and shave some of the middle management. I mean FK all! They do not need to maintain a fleet of cars or pay for gas. I hear drivers are bad mouthing Uber from most customers and they are aware of what is going on. Many are considering using alternatives like Lyft... because they need Uber to get them home when drunk... and they like to ride in a clean car and not worry about stink, Garbage, or contaminating their clothing... or not ruining a night out in a nasty car with a toxic driver or being scared to death by their driving... or being forced to listen to rap or bad music... etc. etc.

Uber was calling me to discus the way they force declines on you:
1) the way the app still offers rides when you cannot accept them because you are in a ride and have one after...
2) Getting the same ride request 5 times in a row... = 5 declines instead of 1
3)You cannot shut down the app to stop accepting rides because they come in so fast (I had 8 the other night... I almost hit a curb trying to get it to stop and had to pull over. Was cursing in front of the pax. They could not believe the app did that... as they were watching the whole thing. (Lately not near as many requests though.)
4) The ridiculous offerings.
5) More.
But really, I do not believe they care at all... not in the least... Actions are louder than words... They seem hostile... given what is going on. One can only hope they learn and course correct.

With the holidays coming on... they had better get it together or they will fail... or Truly become a symbol for poverty and people will be embarrassed to take uber. Still, I would like to know how it fares for Tesla renters in terms of offers, and pay. I would like to know if they get kickbacks for the rentals or if they own Hertz. The shills are pushing them with promises of 1200-1500 a week... but that involves at least 65-80 hours of Comfort rides... and not straight 10 hour shifts... more like a few hours here and there... and down time for charging... and how many people pay more for comfort? I trust no one. I would almost like to try it... just to see... but I purchased a super nice prius in NOV and need to pay it off.

People that rent teslas get an extra dollar per ride. Plus they get comfort and comfort Electric. Those rides tend to tip. I would also assume that they get offered better rides before people that own their own vehicles. Uber wants to be all electric so they are encouraging those with electric cars. There was an interview on one of the morning shows with Dara where he and the interviewer were riding with a woman in a rented Uber tesla. Of course she had nothing but good things to say about Uber and Tesla but I guarantee when she files her taxes and realizes that she can't write her miles off she's going to be in a world of hurt.

:jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:WAIT... WHAT???!!! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop: Guess you cannot get the gas mileage write off??? HOLY $#!+
But you should be able to write off a lot of stuff like lease payments and business expanses. You just wont get the standard mileage deduction. I wonder if there is anyone who has gone down this road and paid taxes that might comment?

You guys wanted all the information, said we weren't contractors because we didnt get all the info

Now we have it and you are still unhappy I find that what uber said when this was rolled out in my market is true, The short rides tend to pay more than they did, and the long rides less and now I never take a long pickup with a short ride, I never take a passenger to a destination I dont like,

f you dont like what you see, dont accept it

Because the information came at the expense of a pay cut.

I've been turning down rides and only being able to take one and hour. I got a ping to drive 10 minutes to pick up a rider going 5 minutes for a total payout of $3.48 turned off app, went home and now realise that I have to find a real job. Being partially paralysed is going to be hard to find a job. Thanks a lot uber. I stuck with this program thru the pandemic, 11,000+accident free trips. $1000's of dollars in tips, almost 5 years in all kinds of weather, all to be fired by attrition. Uber gods have given you their scraps, take it or leave it. I hope nothing but the worst for ubers investors and the 💩 heads running this company.

I was wondering about that. I am hearing of more drivers quitting, but last sunday I was experiencing much longer waits between rides. Do you think they are penalizing drivers for discerning rides... I would say cherry picking, but there are a lot of rotten lemons.

1. If College Station was busy all day and all night with rides I would never work anywhere but there because they do not have upfront pricing as of yet.

2. Houston is horrible pay unless it is airport runs then you can get one in and one out usually and get paid decently.

3. As long as Ants will take those low paying rides ( Newbies will ) then we are screwed.

Its hard for me to tell, Summer is our slow season here, and now the hurricane has upset everything. I d like to say that the real test will be Jan Feb March, but. the beach is destroyed so thats gonna hurt and no spring break here next april, In any case Im having my best "off season" with up front pricing

BUFP. before up front pricing at the end of the day my rides were paying me about 75 cents a mile total miles That was with a few XL rides, and tips included

Now When I get a ping I ocus on just two things miles (miles to pick up and miles to destination) and pay. I take almost everything that pays $1/ mile and reject almost everything else. I also take airport rides up to about 50 miles

The long rides usually pay less than $1/ mile

As long as I stick to my criteria I’m doing better now than I did
